The MakerBot team created an architecture where Autodesk’s Forge Viewer was customized to render both the 3D slicer toolpaths and to visualize unique 3D printing data. Using the Forge Viewer API,  Model Derivative API, and Data Management API, our team was able to build a holistic platform for wide variety of digital and physical engineering tasks necessary to build 3D printers. The presenters will enhance the talk with brief software and hardware demos.

Greg has built web systems for over 10 years, and currently develops and maintains MakerBot’s cloud based 3D printing systems — comprising tens of thousands connected printers. He also manages Thingiverse’s cloud architecture, the world’s largest 3D printing repository and community with 2+ million files and 3+ million users. He is an expert in managing scalable web infrastructures, especially for the various technologies that power cloudconnected 3D printers.
