We'll discuss integration of BIM into the project framework, emphasizing benefits gained from inception to operational excellence. We'll trace the evolution of BIM within the project and its impact on project coordination and efficiency. This session will demonstrate the current importance of BIM in enabling Qatar Rail to manage mega-assets and associated BIM data, and we'll cover the value of Autodesk Platform Services in optimizing workflows across organization to drive cost efficiencies. With future plans to double the size of metro, the presentation will showcase Qatar Rails strategy to implement connected BIM, advanced data analytics, and extended/augmented reality.

Ensuring accuracy in a large set of construction documents can be complicated. Spelling errors, missed annotation, and multiple users on a project can still waste a project's budget time when they don't need to. Automating the keynote creating and editing process can help eliminate these time wasters, saving considerable time and money for some of our most basic needs. This lesson will cover a feature in AutoCAD software that will use an Excel file as one source of truth for keynotes on construction documents. We'll create a table that will be dynamically populated with keynotes as they are used in a drawing, allowing for concise tables that, along with the Excel file, can be updated together to match for the duration of project design. Any engineering discipline using AutoCAD will be able to use this workflow.

AutoCAD (& verticals) Plant 3D, and Revit all have different workflows with ACC/BIM 360 projects and the Desktop Connector. After many challenging hours I believe I have finally found a way to explain the various ACC/BIM 360 workflows and would like to share this knowledge with everyone else who's also dealing with all these various workflows and collaboration options. Specifically, I'm going to cover working with Revit, Plant 3D, and Civil 3D (same workflows for AutoCAD) with ACC and/or BIM 360 projects. I'll also cover the Desktop Connector 15 and 16 and the differences we've encountered, good and bad.

Factory design is often ongoing and requires change to accommodate new and upgraded products, increase safety, and provide work spaces for people in an ever-changing environment. While Revit has traditionally been used in a way that is one site, one project—this presentation will share how Revit can be used to accommodate many projects in one model. This presentation will revolve around a large industrial project to demonstrate the data workflow from design through construction, as well as the site data gathering for data visualization. By using the following software platforms—BIM 360 software, Assemble, BIM Track, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Power BI—the information from this project’s different components is visualized and combined in Power BI. Dax and M language in Power BI are utilized to manipulate raw data. Metric-based results in Power BI dashboards are organized tab by tab in accordance with different analytical functionality. We’ll give detailed examples to represent the information cross-referencing between the disciplines. This presentation will help different stakeholders track the progress of projects from qualitative and quantitative perspectives based on locations.

Building Information Modeling () offers opportunities to improve collaborative work and integration in the AEC industry. It is increasingly adopted in construction projects and specially in Kuwait's projects.This presentation will uncover one of the mega BIM projects in Kuwait "Kuwait International Airport Terminal 2" project. During the presentation, the attendees will see the progress of the project and how " LIMAK Insaat " which is the main contractor literally implemented BIM during the construction phase. The presentation will also show the clash detection procedures followed and what LIMAK Insaat is doing beyond 3D modeling in this magnificent project.

Challenging the deconstruction and decontamination of a former industrial site: the refinery of Dunkerque in France. From a huge data sets of 30 000 old plans and a dynamic scan of a 90Ha area, the low LOD Revit models were made manually but also automatically using IA with image recognition. The representations of the contamination and lithology is modelled with voxels and informed using interpolation scripts with Dynamo directly from georeferenced boreholes stored in excel datasheets. The aim of this BIM model is to create scenariis of depollution depending of what is located underground : pipes, concrete and pollutants.

Interest in the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow as governments, companies and individuals begin to realize the potential that a data-driven world has to offer. This talk explores how the construction industry can use the data it collects via tools like BIM and sensors to feed into the wider IoT agenda and the benefits this could bring. We will discuss how we can utilise the data we collect for a variety of purposes including benchmarking and continuous improvement, while also considering how we can combine our data with data sets from other sectors to create greater insights for the industry, client, and end user. Finally, we will look at how we can manage some of the challenges of being a data-driven industry including data management and storage, pain/gain share, ethical considerations, and the need to recruit staff with different skill sets.
