Reality capture technologies, such as laser scanning, allow teams to document site conditions with precision. However, turning that raw data into actionable models and coordinating them across disciplines can be a challenge without the right tools and workflow. This lab will help you to set up a practical workflow that integrates ReCap Pro 2026, Revit, and the module in Construction Cloud to enable efficient scan-to-BIM and processes. Converting Unused Commercial Space into Modern Offices with Revit, Construction Cloud, and Tandem

Renovation projects are on the rise, with digital methods like reality capture, model-based collaboration, and Digital Workplaces proving essential. AFRY Switzerland's “AFRY Bellinzona regional hub” is a prime example. Located in a historic Swiss town of Bellinzona, the 2,000 m² space was transformed from an unused commercial site into flexible, modern offices. Autodesk tools were used throughout: Recap for reality capture, Revit for model authoring, ACC for clash detection and coordination, AR visualisation, site reporting, and a Digital Workplace prototype with Tandem. was a top priority—repurposing the existing space helped meet initial goals, with recycled materials and 90% reused furniture from previous offices.

Overcoming Hidden Challenges Using BIM Procedures and AEC Collection Tools to Create As-Built Data of an Existing Building

Public services englobe many different areas of action that must offer efficient services for citizens without wasting money. Therefore, tasks that involve construction, and their maintenance, might need a special approach, as usually a lot of money is required. We will explain how we changed methods and even cultural patterns to keep buildings in a highly useful condition and reach low or better-planned costs. Our case study documents an existing building that was not built by any governmental institution; as a result, no technical documentation or registers of the construction were found. The challenge of our study is decoding the existing construction and its installations—and how it has been used and damaged over time—by using Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection tools. As the technical team searches for hidden details on the construction, to collect data on the building, we can improve our work strategy in a collaborative environment and have more-effective results for management decisions.

AiCorb: Tackling the Designer's Dilemma and Risks with AI-Powered Rapid Prototyping

Designers often face the dilemma of unlimited options and a limited timeframe. AiCorb is an ambitious AI design tool made to address this issue. Established in 2017 as a collaboration between a top Japanese general contractor and a pioneering U.S. research institute, AiCorb currently focuses on facade study and 3D modeling, offering two key features: interpreting a designer's intent from sketch to design, then converting from design to building information modeling (BIM) via a Revit plug-in. As a result, designers can cut down their work time for a mid-sized building feasibility study from eight weeks to less than one week. This class will also explore how AiCorb possibly plans to implement a feedback system that will generate optimal facade designs based on engineering analysis simulation results from apps like Autodesk Forma software. Participants will discover the potential of AI to enable "rapid prototyping" in the early design stages, and they'll gain insights into an innovative design workflow where the designer helps the client make better-informed decisions.

São Paulo Metro: Building the Future with BIM on a 20km new Line

A new metro Line, with 19 kilometers and encompassing 15 stations, a maintenance yard, and 2 primary substations, represents a landmark achievement in utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM). A large-scale infrastructure project has set a new benchmark for the industry by implementing a comprehensive BIM (Building Information Modeling) approach, encompassing all disciplines, including geotechnical engineering and laser scanning for connection stations with existing lines. The project has also standardized data using IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) and introduced a new standard for contractual items, including a new contractual measurement method. Automated analyses have been integrated into robotic processes, and a train dynamic models to ensure equipment installations has been utilized and with data management. These innovations have significantly enhanced project quality and established the project as a national reference.

Digital Asset Tracking and Inventory

This session will look at how Boustead Projects implements processes for monitoring and tracking prefabricated elements. It involves overseeing design approval before fabrication, as well as the real-time tracking of asset location and status with the use of QR codes. This real-time tracking facilitates the generation of accurate status reports for project stakeholders. For mechanical and electrical equipment required for testing and commissioning (T&C), each named asset is tagged with its T&C status, which is then documented in the intelligent model data. This data includes parameter values like equipment site label, site location, and system description, which are used for the respective unit on-site. Internally, Boustead Projects uses Assets to track the lidar scanning statuses based on rooms per level, keeping management informed about the progress of lidar scanning activities.

Indonesia 4.0: BIM Uses Through Megaproject—Indonesia’s New Capital City

Indonesia is moving its capital from Jakarta to a new city. In this session, we'll explore how Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing is implementing building information modeling (BIM) in megaproject “Indonesia’s New Capital City,” specifically the highway projects. We'll start by discussing how we developed our own classification system to help the quantification process, including the benefits and challenges of this approach. Next, we'll cover how we integrated all the projects into the common data environment (CDE) and used Autodesk Platform Services to create a dashboard that displays key project metrics and status. We'll also discuss how we maintain BIM implementation through weekly BIM evaluations, including how we address issues and ensure consistency across all projects. Finally, we'll share how we integrated all intelligent models from every project into a single federated model that is updated weekly to show the construction progress.

Revit Dynamo and AI for the decontamination of a refinery site

Challenging the deconstruction and decontamination of a former industrial site: the refinery of Dunkerque in France. From a huge data sets of 30 000 old plans and a dynamic scan of a 90Ha area, the low LOD Revit models were made manually but also automatically using IA with image recognition. The representations of the contamination and lithology is modelled with voxels and informed using interpolation scripts with Dynamo directly from georeferenced boreholes stored in excel datasheets. The aim of this BIM model is to create scenariis of depollution depending of what is located underground : pipes, concrete and pollutants.

How 360-Degree Reality Capture Moves the Needle for a $1.2 Billion Construction Project

Andrew Cameron, project manager with Hensel Phelps, will share his insights from pioneering 360-degree reality capture on his project, the $1.2 billion Harvey Milk Terminal 1 at the San Francisco International Airport, since 2016. He and his team of 16 field engineers have worked closely with HoloBuilder over the last three years to invent and build out many of the workflows and features that are essential on tens of thousands of construction sites around the world today, including 360-degree markups and the JobWalk app itself. He will discuss how to use 360-degree documentation to drive value on a billion-dollar project for the client, stakeholders, and his project team. He will also share his experiences of how to successfully partner with construction technology providers to build the technologies you always wanted. To highlight the team’s successful innovation partnership, he will reveal the latest co-developed solutions to speed up and even automate reality capture on projects.
