The bill of materials (BOM) is at the heart of any manufacturing company, but each department (design, purchasing, production) and each system (PDM, ERP, MES, PLM) has its own view, understanding, and expectation of what the BOM should look like. Data is usually transferred manually from one system to another, which is time consuming and error prone. This session will explain where the BOM is created, how it moves between teams, how and why it is transformed, and what tool should do what to support this transition. We'll use practical examples to show how a BOM starts in Inventor and Vault software and moves between the above systems, and how these systems can be integrated with each other.

Gain insight into how the technology can help transform the traditional organisational system to become modern, productive, and cost-effective by utilising product customisations and configurations that fit the specific organisation's needs. Last year we presented the Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage "App Store.” This year, we'll quickly review how it works, and then we'll introduce a few of the new apps that have been added since. If you've been a customer for some time, you may be particularly interested in new capabilities that are now included in our default tenants. These new apps are available to old customers through the App Store! In particular, we've added capabilities for managing product concepts/ideas and requirements so collaboration and approvals can begin before designs ever start, minimizing product development risks and costs. As always, you can implement apps easily and at no additional software costs, so you can increase the value of your systems without onerous upgrades. And there will be more apps to come!
