In today's environment of digital project delivery, many opportunities exist for enhancing current project delivery processes from design to construction. This sharing session will build upon last year's tech talk: "Bridging Innovative Opportunities for Digital Project Delivery." It will touch upon the innovative initiative of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)—the Project Delivery Collaboration Center (PDCC)—which had a soft rollout in Spring 2024. The PDCC is meant to be a one-stop shop or hub for project managers. The initial rollout familiarized teams with the backbone of the solution, Autodesk Construction Cloud. As the PDCC continues to develop and evolve, integrations with department systems and other off-the-shelf solutions will be implemented. A few key integrations in development are with Asta Powerproject Vision, Bentley Systems' ProjectWise, Sitelink, and Voyager. Behind the scenes, the PDCC is not one solution; but to the end user, the intent is that it appears as one.

The cooperative approach of IPA fundamentally reforms conventional project execution at many levels with the goal of successfully realizing construction projects in terms of quality, schedules, and costs. Due to the complex user requirements and simultaneously intense time pressure, the client has opted for the integrated project delivery (IPD) method for the new laboratory building in Berlin. The new laboratory and research building is expected to be completed by 2028. A critical foundation for success is the model-based collaboration of the involved disciplines from planning and implementation. For this, interdisciplinary and process-spanning collaboration was organized and established with the suitable common data environment to efficiently design the participants' processes and automate them as much as possible.

Caltrans, in coordination with our software partners Autodesk, Trimble, and ESRI, is in the process of developing a digital geospatial ecosystem to centralize, standardize, and connect Caltrans' digital data across programs and divisions. New tools in Civil3D 2024 and Trimble Business Center have been developed and are being tested to assist with the needed data interoperability. The system aims to increase engagement, equity, innovation, integrity, pride, safety, climate action, stewardship, and efficiency by using tools of today and working with industry to develop tools of tomorrow. This Caltrans effort will support FHWA initiatives such as BIM4I to streamline data connectivity for Project Delivery and create, maintain, and provide access to a statewide digital catalog of Caltrans assets. The proposed milestones include beta testing new industry tools, creating project delivery dashboards, integrating digital as-built data from Construction's connected data environment, and developing new project delivery products such as mapping on demand and augmented reality in the field.

Luxembourg railway owner began its digital transformation journey in 2017, improving quality and efficiency for construction projects through cloud-based project delivery. There are many main subjects for asset management, including maintenance building, earthworks platform, permanent way, overhead lines, signaling, and telecommunications. One specific aspect to the country is to have external project design offices and many subcontractors, using multidisciplinary design management based on Autodesk technologies, including Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, InfraWorks, and Autodesk BIM Collaborate products. The geographical aspect is taken into consideration through connected building information modeling (BIM) and geographic information system (GIS). During this class, you will discover why a common data environment platform and products ecosystem save time and information for the delivery plan, and support supply chains, and how process owner mandates can be imposed on local markets, and what solutions are found to develop a business model dedicated to railway infrastructure.

Standardization is the core of any organization, to get efficient project delivery and data reuse. With the rise of advanced technologies, like AI and ML, it's even more important to have a standardized structure in place to maximize your data, both internal and external, in the most efficient way. But how can you establish this? And what are the steps you need to take to get it moving? In this class, we'll highlight how we developed tooling based on a core data structure in place. This class will give insights into what is possible with standardization and the connecting of different source systems to arrive at a single source of data insights and client delivery. We do this by using the Autodesk Platform Services APIs.

As a new player in the electric vehicle market, Rivian Automotive needs to move fast. In addition to building a new product line of electrics trucks, SUVs and delivery vans they need to build the facilities infrastructure to support. This includes an array of new office space TIs, service centers, factory additions, charging and new retail spaces. To accomplish this goal Rivian used the ACC platform to collaborate with all design and construction partners and internal stakeholders. By running all projects on one common data platform it provides our project teams with an invaluable data set as an owner and operator, creating new opportunities to optimize project delivery. Departments of transportation and other highway agencies are attempting to integrate their workflows and information processes as they move from design through the construction stage of the infrastructure lifecycle. This effort is designed to achieve greater efficiencies and cost savings through better collaboration during the construction process, and help facilitate information flows into and out of the field. While the advent of building information modeling (BIM) brought the promise of common ways of working, joined up delivery teams, and connected data sets, it also introduced a new language, complex standards, and siloed BIM experts. These have since been wrapped into an international standard in the form of the ISO 19650 suite. While ISO 19650 has been in place for a number of years, uptake has been mostly seen in our London office. But recently, we've seen it emerge in our U.S. studios. This class will explain the fundamentals of ISO 19650; explore what it means to owner, designer, and constructor; and discuss how to align with a strategic and pragmatic approach rather than mandating verbatim. Having led project BIM processes for well over a decade, Perkins&Will has gained insight, experience, and understanding regarding what does and doesn't work for a range of clients across different sectors.
