In today's environment of digital project delivery, many opportunities exist for enhancing current project delivery processes from design to construction. This sharing session will build upon last year's tech talk: "Bridging Innovative Opportunities for Digital Project Delivery." It will touch upon the innovative initiative of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)—the Project Delivery Collaboration Center (PDCC)—which had a soft rollout in Spring 2024. The PDCC is meant to be a one-stop shop or hub for project managers. The initial rollout familiarized teams with the backbone of the solution, Autodesk Construction Cloud. As the PDCC continues to develop and evolve, integrations with department systems and other off-the-shelf solutions will be implemented. A few key integrations in development are with Asta Powerproject Vision, Bentley Systems' ProjectWise, Sitelink, and Voyager. Behind the scenes, the PDCC is not one solution; but to the end user, the intent is that it appears as one.

The cooperative approach of IPA fundamentally reforms conventional project execution at many levels with the goal of successfully realizing construction projects in terms of quality, schedules, and costs. Due to the complex user requirements and simultaneously intense time pressure, the client has opted for the integrated project delivery (IPD) method for the new laboratory building in Berlin. The new laboratory and research building is expected to be completed by 2028. A critical foundation for success is the model-based collaboration of the involved disciplines from planning and implementation. For this, interdisciplinary and process-spanning collaboration was organized and established with the suitable common data environment to efficiently design the participants' processes and automate them as much as possible.

Caltrans, in coordination with our software partners Autodesk, Trimble, and ESRI, is in the process of developing a digital geospatial ecosystem to centralize, standardize, and connect Caltrans' digital data across programs and divisions. New tools in Civil3D 2024 and Trimble Business Center have been developed and are being tested to assist with the needed data interoperability. The system aims to increase engagement, equity, innovation, integrity, pride, safety, climate action, stewardship, and efficiency by using tools of today and working with industry to develop tools of tomorrow. This Caltrans effort will support FHWA initiatives such as BIM4I to streamline data connectivity for Project Delivery and create, maintain, and provide access to a statewide digital catalog of Caltrans assets. The proposed milestones include beta testing new industry tools, creating project delivery dashboards, integrating digital as-built data from Construction's connected data environment, and developing new project delivery products such as mapping on demand and augmented reality in the field.

Workplans are at the center of every construction project, and are key to understanding how value is going to be delivered to the customer. Yet, they tend to exist in isolation, disconnected from the rest of project information and the master schedules from which they are derived. One of the biggest causes of productivity loss is the poor communication of the tasks scheduled to complete the job right the first time. GM knew that traditional construction methods would not meet the timeline and demands of the project, so the firm opted for an integrated project delivery (IPD) method to deliver a project on such a large scale. As an IPD, the partners of GM, Barton Mallow, and Ghafari all share the risk of the project and its rewards. This sharing session will touch upon PennDOT's (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's) innovative initiatives with augmented reality, drone data capture for both design and construction, and its Project Delivery Collaboration Center solution. We currently have multiple pilot projects underway and would like to share our lessons learned and how we plan to tie them all together with a single platform. We plan to make our Project Delivery Collaboration Center solution available this fall. It will provide the backbone for connecting our current legacy systems, future systems, and design collaboration. It is a one-stop shop for the department designers for project file management, workflow, schedule oversight, project health, and more. We plan to cover our work with Datumate, Reconstruct, Elecosoft (Asta) Powerproject, IMAJION, and the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform.

The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry generates a significant amount of data that helps in making informed data-based decisions and speeding up projects delivery. However, information derived from the data is only as good as its quality and may pose high risk to all stakeholders if not validated diligently. In this class, we will explore different methods of data validation, including 1) a reactive approach based on stakeholder feedback and observed poor performance signs, 2) a proactive approach involving the use of various data export and visualization methods to access data quality, and 3) innovative automated real-time validation techniques using custom tools and event-driven programming to ensure data consistency and prevent invalid entries. In this session, you'll learn about quality management and how to maximize the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform, other Autodesk products, and custom solutions developed using available APIs to validate data, ensure compliance with standards, and mitigate risks.

As a manufacturer and installer of structural glazing products, custom designed and assembled in an automated factory, Starline Windows is uniquely positioned to work with developers and architects directly within the Revit environment. This creates many advantages and challenges in working across organizations and various internal departments. I have worked extensively with Autodesk and their Partners to implement a design process at Starline Windows that represents our product to the highest level of excellence within our shop drawings, while simultaneously creating machine data files and material managment information. I will share my experience in identifying oportunities for digital transformation and process improvement, and I will speak to implementing change across organizational boundaries. I will discuss how to bridge from a modeling environment to a data centric solution while still maintaining a "data entry once" approach for efficient, agile project delivery.

Standardization is the core of any organization, to get efficient project delivery and data reuse. With the rise of advanced technologies, like AI and ML, it's even more important to have a standardized structure in place to maximize your data, both internal and external, in the most efficient way. But how can you establish this? And what are the steps you need to take to get it moving? In this class, we'll highlight how we developed tooling based on a core data structure in place. This class will give insights into what is possible with standardization and the connecting of different source systems to arrive at a single source of data insights and client delivery. We do this by using the Autodesk Platform Services APIs.

As a new player in the electric vehicle market, Rivian Automotive needs to move fast. In addition to building a new product line of electrics trucks, SUVs and delivery vans they need to build the facilities infrastructure to support. This includes an array of new office space TIs, service centers, factory additions, charging and new retail spaces. To accomplish this goal Rivian used the ACC platform to collaborate with all design and construction partners and internal stakeholders. By running all projects on one common data platform it provides our project teams with an invaluable data set as an owner and operator, creating new opportunities to optimize project delivery. Attendees will learn about how Rivian Facilities utilized Autodesk Platforms Services to build a suite of custom integrations and tools that provide project teams actionable insights and automations that enable better collaboration with internal and external design and construction partners. These tools answer questions like – when was the last project meeting, to where the most recent construction documents are.
