Autodesk Platform Services documentation, website, and sample files all assume the user is an experienced web developer. Most architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals who want to take advantage of using Autodesk Platform Services to access their Autodesk Forma data are not web developers, and they need to understand how to start from level zero. This class will introduce a level zero approach for connecting Autodesk Platform Services to Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud). We'll walk through creating an Autodesk Platform Services application, obtaining authentication, and connecting to Autodesk Forma. Once connected, we'll retrieve basic project information, and we'll review the structure of the Autodesk Forma data.

In this session, we'll introduce GraphQL and explore how it is being used to deliver the promise of "granular" data. As you have heard before, Autodesk is investing heavily in cloud data with Autodesk Fusion (manufacturing), Autodesk Forma [architecture, engineering, and construction; building information modeling (BIM)], and Autodesk Flow (media and entertainment) industry groups. At the center is also the Data Exchange API that allows data to be shared in a specific and durable way. From authoring to access, this class will explain the details about each software system, and how to use the GraphQL API to access the data. We'll also cover the fact that data can easily be accessed across each of the information models, and via Data Exchange.

In this class, we will go over all the latest details about the Autodesk Platform Services Data Initiatives from an API perspective. Access your design data in a granular fashion using GraphQL in Autodesk Platform Services. If you're a customer, developer, or partner and want to see the latest information about the API status for each of the three platform data areas, then this is the class for you. As you have heard before, Autodesk is investing heavily in cloud data with Autodesk Fusion 360 (manufacturing), Autodesk Forma (AEC /BIM), and Autodesk Flow (media and entertainment) industry groups. At the center is also the Data Exchange service that allows data to be shared in a specific and durable way. From authoring to access, this class will explain the details about each service and how to use the API to access the data. We'll also cover the fact that data can be accessed across each of the information models, and via Data Exchange, in an easy fashion.

In today’s digital design and engineering environments, identity and access management (IAM) is more than just a technical necessity—it’s a foundation for secure, seamless collaboration. This meetup offers a space for Autodesk customers to come together and explore how identity and access decisions impact our daily workflows, from managing non-human identities and integrating SSO to navigating the human side of access failures and security breaches.
Whether you're an admin responsible for IAM infrastructure or a user who’s experienced the real-world effects of access challenges, your perspective matters. This session is designed to foster open, community-driven conversations where we can share stories, surface challenges, and learn from one another.
Join us to connect with peers who care about trust, security, and the systems that support our work. Together, we’ll explore how identity and access—often invisible—are essential to everything we do.

Large language models are great at answering questions, and even acting on your behalf, but only if they have access to the right data and tools. In this session, you’ll learn how to give LLMs secure, structured access to your design data and projects using the Model Context Protocol and Autodesk Platform Services. We’ll give an overview of MCP, explore its growing ecosystem, and walk you through the process of building a custom MCP server connected to APS.

Network Rail is the owner-operator of the railway infrastructure in England, Scotland, and Wales, which includes 20,000 miles of track and 30,000 bridges, tunnels, viaducts; and employs more than 37,000 staff. In this new era of technology, Network Rail produces vast amounts of digital information and relies on terabytes of point-cloud data, 3D modeling, and instant access to information to help develop and maintain tomorrow’s railway infrastructure. In this session, we’ll show how Network Rail managed the challenge to move away from data drives and siloed working with large 3D scans and data sets. As part of their digital transformation journey, Network Rail used the Autodesk digital workplace and BIM 360 software as their collaboration platform to connect project teams to rapidly access big-data scans. Teams have instant access to the latest design software without the need for hardware upgrade or transportation of large data sets across project participants.

Parsons, Autodesk, and Esri partnered to solve a massive challenge: how to organize, index, and expose hundreds of infrastructure projects—encompassing hundreds of thousands of CAD and BIM files—in a single, searchable, map-centered interface. This session will present a real-world case study of how the Parsons, Esri, and Autodesk Consulting teams used ArcGIS GeoBIM and Autodesk Platform Services to create an automated and scalable application that connects project locations with associated design documents, enabling users to search, view, and explore design data spatially. Learn how this solution streamlined access to critical files, broke down data silos, and unlocked new efficiencies across Parsons’ enterprise. Whether you're facing legacy data sprawl or planning your own GIS-BIM integration, this session will offer valuable insights and lessons learned.

This session will look at a process with an in-house tool developed among other things with Autodesk Platform Services technologies allowing users to inject a Revit /IFC model into Power BI in just minutes, in order to visualize and exploit the data for different use cases (engineering and site work team). In this session, we'll view and export Bill of Quantities, check the data (automatic coloration depending of the value of the data), link to another database as an SOA (schedule of accommodation) to compare with the model and track it, and link to the schedule of the project to do a "4D."

Discover how the integration of low-code/no-code platforms like Microsoft Power Automate with Autodesk Platform Services empowers users, including non-developers, to create custom workflows around their engineering and design data. This session will demonstrate how to leverage these powerful tools to streamline processes and drive innovation without the need for extensive coding knowledge. Attendees will gain insights into practical implementation strategies, real-world use cases, and best practices for maximizing the potential of their design data through automated, customized workflows.

The Model Properties and Data Exchange APIs are recent additions to Autodesk Forge. They allow us to access design data in a more controlled manner, such as by filtering, searching, and comparing models between versions. Instead of sending the entire model, you can select only the portion that your collaborator needs. Together with the Model Derivative API and the Design Automation API, we now have more options to access design data. However, can you tell which one to use for your specific needs? Do you know differences among those APIs? In this session, we’ll introduce you to the Model Properties and Data Exchange APIs. We’ll then compare various options we have to access design data. We’ll show the examples of use cases, and discuss potential application areas that weren’t possible until now.

Plant designers face a wide variety of tough-to-solve ventilation and flow control challenges. How can contaminant releases be controlled more effectively? How can you improve energy efficiency? Can you improve flow uniformity through a filter to improve uptime and reduce costs? Designers routinely face these and countless other challenges but until today have had limited ability to examine them in detail. Plant Design Suite subscribers now have access to Autodesk Simulation CFD 360 cloud-based software, which enables designers and engineers to model flow, thermal phenomena, and fluid mixing in complex plant environments. This class will introduce attendees to what Simulation CFD 360 offers and how they can make best use of it for their design work using geometry that was created in AutoCAD® or Autodesk® Revit® software.

Are you interested in learning about how your firm can join over 35,000 other projects in benefitting from the AEC data model (DM), but aren't sure where to start? Are you wondering about how model data is structured in the AEC Data Model and not quite clear how to build queries to find the data you are interested in? Are you looking for any way to get all those non-Revit users to stop asking for information from the model by building slick dashboards and conversational chatbots that will allow them to get the answers themselves?

If so, this class is for you! In this session, Julia Qin from JP Morgan Chase and Mikako Harada from Autodesk, will walk you through how JP Morgan is leveraging the AEC DM API to pull model data into an internal analytics system that democratizes direct access to model data to support better decisions. We'll dive into the AEC Data Model API and its structure to provide you with the foundational knowledge you need to implement powerful applications and workflows using these APIs.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the layer that lets AI agents access Autodesk tools, data, and APIs through a standardized interface. The firms building this infrastructure today will define the standard not just use it. This session will go deep on three production MCP servers: revitDeploymentMCP (CI/CD pipeline as four AI-callable tools), a Dynamo MCP server (exposing Dynamo scripts for AI orchestration), and an Autodesk Platform Services Data Pipeline server (chaining the Model Derivative API, the Data Management API, and the Design Automation API without auth failures or silent webhook drops). Each server is examined at the architecture, implementation, and deployment levels. You'll receive complete implementation patterns for all three.
