This will be a hands-on introduction to the world of fabrication with Revit MEP software. Familiarize yourself with the fabrication possibilities introduced in Revit MEP 2016 software, such as how to manage and create fabrication content. We will also take a look into possible Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows for fabricators.

We will cover how to set up plug-ins for each of the various products—Fabrication CADmep software, Fabrication CAMduct software, and Fabrication ESTmep software. Learn how to load them in and execute the code. Also, discover some of what you can and cannot do, and ways to work in scripting and LISP to fill in the gaps where necessary. Knowledge of the Fabrication software products would be helpful, as well as prior knowledge of the Fabrication scripting language. This class will be a continuation of the Fabrication Advanced Scripting Class, but attending that class will not be strictly necessary for this one.

We will cover setting up services and service templates in the Fabrication software products to get the best results inside of Revit software. This lab will teach fabrication scripting for Fabrication CADmep software, Fabrication ESTmep software, and Fabrication CAMduct software, using *.COD scripts. It assumes no prior knowledge of COD scripting and will walk you though how to create and test scripts to bulk modify properties of Fabrication content.

Built on the Autodesk Platform Services platform (formerly Forge), the new UI facilitates intuitive visual management for collaboration and consumption in both Revit software and Fabrication authoring products.

This class is an introductory course for Fabrication ESTmep software. It will cover the most important concepts and common commands necessary to use Fabrication ESTmep software at a fundamental level. The objective of this course is to introduce the essential functionality of Fabrication ESTmep software so a new user can generate accurate cost estimates from imported models and traced drawings. We will cover how to navigate through Fabrication ESTmep software, basic reporting, understanding pricing, and best practices. This session features Fabrication ESTmep.

Hit some limits in scripting? Need to be able to do some more advanced calculations on the information in the Fabrication products? This class will help you with some more advanced scripting techniques including hybrid scripting that utilizes other frameworks like autolisp, .net, and the command prompt to do more with the data in the Fabrication products. Knowledge of the Fabrication products is helpful as well as prior knowledge of the fabrication scripting language. 

This will be a run through of the Fabrication software API, features, examples, uses, hints and tips, and new features for 2017.

Revit software's Fabrication tools have come a long way in a short time. This class will show the beginner how to get started. We'll look at the continuation of project workflow when converting the design model to a fabrication model. You'll learn how to convert design information to fabrication items, while discovering some of the pitfalls, and tricks to overcome them, along the way.
