In this session, we'll equip attendees with practical skills and tools to facilitate the integration of sensor data and analytics into InfoWater Pro software's water distribution models using Info360 Insight software. Our primary focus will be the underexplored strategy of dynamically coupling hydraulic models with sensor data, a key aspect in deploying digital twins. These connected models have the potential to save utilities substantial resources through improved operational decision making. We'll discuss the data types suitable for hydraulic models, the preprocessing steps required, and various integration strategies, such as the automatic scaling of customer demands to meet forecasts. The aim is to provide a thorough understanding of digital twins' application in hydraulic modeling, offering attendees valuable insights into this intricate domain.

Water distribution models are used throughout the world to provide customers access to clean, reliable drinking water, as well as sufficient pressure for fire suppression in emergencies. These models are only as valuable as they are accurate. The old process of updating the model every five years for a master plan is outdated and inefficient. The infrequent updating is a byproduct of the many sources of data needed to update your model. Using built-in tools for InfoWater Pro and incorporating telemetry data from Info360 Insight, we will walk through some of the many workflows that are involved in updating models and we’ll explore how much faster they can be accomplished with the right tools. Additionally, we will discuss the important analysis being done with water distribution models and how outdated models can be costly in social, environmental, and financial ways.

When considering the "building life cycle" from the viewpoint of the process importance obtained through ISO19650 certification, to construct a Building database, using BIM360 as CDE and collaborating Information of BIM stored in Revit along with SpaceIQ is required. We will share our insights collected from real project. Also some of the insights on the evolution of data platforms by leveraging SpaceIQ solutions in the design phase, while it is commonly used in the construction to operation/maintenance phases. It is estimated that 80% of the environmental impact is determined at the design phase. However, many designers lack the tools to assess the impact of their design choices. In addition, an increasing number of companies are setting up ambitious sustainability goals, but the data required to drive the actions are often in disparate systems throughout the organization, or kept in PLM (product lifecycle management) and PDM (product data management) systems, which means that designs are already locked up. Autodesk and Makersite collaborated to bring sustainability insights into early product-design phases by connecting relevant lifecycle assessment data to the Autodesk Fusion 360 Design workspace. We’ve created a more holistic workflow to provide even more insights into sustainable design, directly within the design environment. The analysis can also recommend material alternatives and provide costing information to help designers make more-sustainable decisions, faster, with greater impact.

A cross-industry technology fusion! We used Autodesk Generative Design software to create an adaptive connector bracket for robot-operated 3D scans of ancient structures. ReCap software and Dynamo helped us study traditional construction methods and enrich our restoration efforts. This report covers our process in Autodesk Fusion 360 software, including entering design parameters and extracting constraints from the historical site. It explains how we turned the bracket's requirements into criteria for rapid iteration and selection, quickly finding the best solution. It also explains how ReCap processed robot-collected point cloud data to investigate architectural principles and features of ancient buildings in Southern China. Finally, it describes how Dynamo converted these insights into automated building information modeling (BIM) scripting, bridging historical knowledge with modern technology for efficient restoration practices.

The amount of information collected in BIM 360 software can be overwhelming, and finding connections between data that can lead to project insight is not always easy. However, thanks to the flexibility of the Forge API and its seamless communication with BIM 360, it’s now possible to connect information systems that highlight important data and enable better-informed decisions. Attendees will start by understanding the basic setup of a functional Forge-powered information dashboard. We’ll then go through some of the main opportunities to connect information and discuss how to make the most out of the outcomes. We’ll work using practical examples that provide tangible benefits to the project. In the end, we’ll review how to find the required information in BIM 360, what it means, and where to start connecting it using the Forge platform’s Data Management API.

Aqua America is a large water and sewer utility serving eight U.S. states. The utility faces the challenge of efficiently maximizing the management of aging infrastructure in more than 50 wastewater systems in Pennsylvania alone. In 2023, Aqua contracted GHD to implement a Consolidated Planning Level Sewer Program in Pennsylvania, addressing dispersed data sources of condition assessment data and best practices for capital improvement planning at the state, regional, and local levels. This presentation will address the obstacles encountered during the project, and showcase the integration of the Autodesk Info360 Asset and Esri ArcGIS Online cloud platforms to help Aqua efficiently manage significant volumes of closed-circuit TV (CCTV) inspection and other condition assessment data—along with tools to prioritize the riskiest assets, identify projected rehabilitation approaches, and establish capital improvement budgets.

How should you manage your BIM 360 projects? Do you need to overview multiple projects—or 100 intelligent models in the same project? Or information spread in millions of objects? As a leading BIM construction company, VINCI Construction France is always looking to improve project management processes. In this class, we will present how a cloud-tools-based solution may arise to limit tasks that are time-consuming or have no brain value. This session will show the VINCI Construction France dashboard that was developed with the help of the BIM 360 API and the Forge platform to enable the models’ quality overview using data from the different bricks of BIM 360 software. This dashboard enables the firm to surface some insights from each BIM 360 component of a BIM project, and dive into that data to deliver better BIM quality through the firm’s BIM checking tools and methods. This class will present a custom Forge API development inspired by Sam Nseir's work: "Integrate BIM 360 data with PowerBI using R."

This class gives firsthand insights into the application and documented quantified benefits of bringing Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to the field at Max Bögl Group, Germany’s largest privately owned construction company. We will discuss how we were able to deliver construction management workflows with higher quality and in significantly less time than before, and we’ll share best practice workflows for Navisworks software, BIM 360 Glue software, and BIM 360 Field software. As a highlight we will share how we enriched the regular BIM 360 software platform by creating a custom document-management system integration, linking 3D elements to detailed 2D CAD documents. The result is an automated, rule-based integration of 2D plans for 3D models with web and mobile access. A 3D object is then linked to its CAD metadata, checklists, issues, tasks, and respective (plan) documents, and it can be tracked with a QR code.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is dominating the design, construction, and management of much of the vertical construction field, and has now started to gain the attention of the hydropower industry. At present, the more advanced examples of using BIM are from other industries. However, there are a growing number of examples of BIM adoption for hydropower projects. This presentation will demonstrate how BIM has been applied to hydroelectric facility design and rehabilitation, and we will look at the lessons learned and challenges based on recent experiences. Examples will include reality capture, parametric design, clash detection, visualization, engineering integration, quantity schedule, 4D modeling, A360 software for collaboration, BIM 360 mobile and web platform for engineering services in construction, and the adoption of new technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality. Even for the audience outside of the hydro industry, we would like to provide an insight into the use of BIM on any built environment. This session features Revit and InfraWorks 360. AIA Approved
