Hazen has a strong vision for digital twin technology in the Water industry and we have multiple projects and clients where we are pushing this narrative. From HRSD SWIFT Research Facility with Revit and GeoBIM integration, to Aurora Water BIM-based digital twin project using Autodesk Tandem, and several other large greenfield projects where Hazen is using ACC Design, Build, and Operate solutions. We focus heavily on asset management and operational user cases with high impact and credible visuals, client feedback, and clear values. This also includes our virtual digital twin in Tandem that uses Postman to stream SCADA-type data to Tandem Connect and Tandem Streams to show the future of Tandem, and Info360 Plant for process modeling and analysis for a new greenfield project integrated with Tandem and all things ACC. We will tell the story of why Hazen is putting our name out there for these Autodesk tools and demonstrate why we feel they are important to the future of protecting water.

We can now use operational digital twins to apply the past, present, and future conditions at the level of the asset to solve key problems and meet objectives for water networks and plants. With Autodesk's Info360 platform, trust in these systems has reached a point where simulated predictive "what-if" scenarios actively support responses to planned and emerging incidents with real-time artificial intelligence (AI) recommendations informing the optimization of networks and plants. The technological focus of this industry talk will be on operational digital-twin use cases. With a goal to reduce water loss to 10% by 2030, Water Corporation of Western Australia uses data-driven models to understand pressure and flow management with live physics-based models for pressure optimization. North American utility's water treatment plant optimizes chemical costs while maintaining compliance with predictive AI, achieving a 13% savings (US$170,000) in ferric costs while meeting turbidity discharge compliance limits.

Orange County Sanitation District (OC San) is a public agency responsible for collecting, treating, and safely disposing of wastewater and its residuals for 2.6 million residents and businesses in Orange County, California. OC San operates and maintains two large treatment plants, 15 pumping stations, and about 390 miles of sewer with 4,500 manholes. OC San faces the challenge of fixing aging infrastructure with increasingly limited resources. In 2023, OC San contracted Autodesk to help them implement Info360 Asset software with the goals of standardizing CCTV inspection data collection and management, and enabling the development of risk models for sewer assets in the collections system. In this presentation, OC San will showcase the use of Info360 Asset to manage and analyze the volumes of geographic information system (GIS) and CCTV inspection data to best prioritize the riskiest assets.

This presentation will walk you through the journey a natural gas company took implementing AutoCAD Plant 3D plant design software. We will examine the various steps involving your reseller—Autodesk Consultants—along with internal IT resources to better ensure a successful implementation. We will show you a specific pilot project and its journey through a Building Information Modeling (BIM) project life cycle. We will also touch on some additional applications—like AutoCAD P&ID software, Navisworks software, and BIM 360 Glue software—which enhanced our BIM project life cycle. This session features AutoCAD Plant 3D and AutoCAD Plant 3D.

By keeping the information in the cloud and providing access to owners earlier in the project, it is much easier to implement the changes than it is at a more traditional stage of the project. This class will showcase the essential benefits obtained by the adoption of BIM in a well-known international company specialized in industrial, chemical plant, and oil and gas. Learn how the company, starting in particular from the Civil Department, has adopted BIM, and how they currently use BIM to manage data such as key quantities, bills of materials, fabrication, and feasibility planning. After a brief introduction to the company, we will present tips and tricks that cover hot topics, including data exchange in a multidisciplinary environment, file and cost management, and quality control. Finally, we will give detailed explanations of how to manage processes through Revit software, Dynamo, BIM 360 software, and Navisworks software by way of several examples from real EPC projects. This session will feature Revit, Dynamo, and BIM 360, along with in-house tools and Navisworks.

In the design world, it's not uncommon that key project data is stored in application silos and requires a great deal of manual coordination. Autodesk has taken the first steps for architecture, engineering, and construction projects to make data available to multiple applications at once-by introducing a connected workflow that shares data from schematic diagrams with a Revit project. The Revit P&ID Modeler breaks silos down by letting the user begin with P&ID schematics in AutoCAD Plant 3D software to create intelligent, data-rich diagrams. The schematic data is hosted in the A360 cloud-computing platform cloud and is referenced by Revit project models. The 3D model consisting of elements such as piping, equipment, and accessories is then developed using information defined in the schematic, such as pipe size, pipe type, valve type, and equipment IDs. As the model is developed and the schematic iterated, the user receives feedback to help ensure consistency and that design intent is maintained.
