After creating base views and projected views from 3D solid or surface models, we’ll explore sectional views. Using 3D models, we’ll create full, half, offset, and aligned sectional drawing views. We’ll also create circular and rectangular detail views. We will apply editing techniques of the 3D models to then update the derived drawing views. We will also explore undocumented Auxiliary View features from 3D models. We’ll export the 2D sectional drawing views into model space using the EXPORTLAYOUT command to get true size and shape geometry to edit and annotate as needed. Tools for creating 3D solids with surfaces will accelerate your design workflow. Learn new techniques that will supersede your old-school techniques and develop a new level of understanding for creating and editing 3D models. In this lab, we explore solid and surface extrudes, sweeps, lofts, and revolves. The new Model States functionality introduced in Inventor 2022 software has many uses within your Inventor design files. It was introduced as a replacement for the pre-2022 Level of Detail assembly functionality, and also provides an alternative to the iPart and iAssembly functionality. This class will begin by discussing the uses of Model States, from their role in creating component design configurations to improving retrieval times and performance when working with a large assembly. You will also learn how to create Model States in both part and assembly files, and then how to maximize these files in your drawings and presentation files to document their design.
