    Description

We've seen it time and again: Great digital ideas are realized and implemented on a project. There’s talk of advancing those ideas into tools or products, and of the importance of digital. The initiative has support, development is underway. Then, too often, those initiatives fade in priority or stall. What happens? This session will explore the challenges and opportunities in developing and implementing software products in organizations that are built around a time-based, "project" mindset. We’ll explore the differences in approaches and value propositions for each, with particular emphasis on communicating with stakeholders, planning and resourcing, executing and managing the work, and team roles and work styles.

    Key Learnings

    • Discover characteristics of project-based approaches—similarities and differences.
    • Learn about areas of opportunity for product approaches in a project environment.
    • Explore and assess best-fit communication, planning, and management techniques for use in your organization.
    • Develop three actions you can take to better integrate product and project mindsets in your organization.
