Descripción

As manufacturer of any product that will be used in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, you may like to create models that can be used in a BIM (Building Information Modeling) ecosystem. In general, users in BIM industries who use Revit software expect to receive simplified models with required information. Inventor software and the Configurator 360 app can be used to create the fully detailed model, then prepare the BIM representation (BIM-compatible content) used for the simplified model. Discover the workflow that you can use to design and create BIM-compatible contents more efficiently. You will learn how to create the fully detailed model, simplify it to author, and publish models in Inventor and use them with AutoCAD software and Revit. Also, you will learn to use Configurator 360 to publish the models to the web, where AEC users can view the detailed model, configure it as appropriate, and download the simplified model in a format they can use in Revit or other BIM software. We will also discuss about using APIs to automate the entire workflow.

Aprendizajes clave

  • Discover the workflow to create a simplified product, author metadata, and publish a native Revit family file (RFA)
  • Learn how to use simplified tools in Inventor and gain an overview of Configurator 360
  • Learn how to reassemble the RFA files in Revit
  • Discover the possibility of automating the workflow using APIs
