As a virtual design and construction (VDC) manager for a general contractor (GC), one of the largest headaches is making sure your subcontractors get their models uploaded to your Autodesk Construction Cloud hub on time, and that they're named correctly and in the right format to make Model Coordination work seamlessly. What if it didn't have to be that way? If your subcontractors also happened to be working in Autodesk Construction Cloud, it doesn't have to be. What if they just published their own models internally and all the sharing happened automatically? This class will cover how to use the Bridge tool in Autodesk Construction Cloud to enable automatic sharing of models between Autodesk Construction Cloud hubs to streamline model coordination. Not only will we cover how to share models from the subcontractor's hub to the GC hub and then on into your coordination NWF, but we'll also show you how to share models from one subcontractor to another to enable direct coordination between subcontractor Revit models.

Do your accounting and operations teams have to deal with the headache of duplicate data entry—or delays caused by using multiple systems to manage project finances? It doesn't need to be like that. What if your accounting team could continue using the software they need while your operations teams use another, with the data flowing continuously between them? Talk about saving you time and money! Join us as Jacobsen Construction, Morpheus Technology Group, and Autodesk come together to discuss the ins and outs of integrating an accounting/ERP system with a cost management system. You'll also get a glimpse into what the process looked like for Jacobsen with their Viewpoint Vista integration, the lessons they learned, and the benefits they're experiencing.

When implementing new technology, an assured way to miss buy-in across your organization is to sign team members up and say, "Good luck!” Training is the obvious answer to this problem. However, designing, implementing, and executing a training program is a heavy lift, and justifying the commitment is paramount. To do so, it's vital to measure success through data: Locations and geos trained, project value in geographic area, and, of course, the number of individuals trained. The value of training doesn't end there. Our program instills our companywide vision of doing business. It deepens relationships with Autodesk, creating a partnership that tackles our big issues together. These relationships directly guide feature developments at Autodesk. At this session, learn from Ryan Riley, virtual design and construction (VDC) manager at Barton Malow Builders (BMB), on how he developed the ACC Roadshow Training Program at BMB across 16 offices, and 10 states, while tackling extremely local, specific problems.

Projects today need one or several persons to ensure that digitalization, data flow, collaboration, and intelligent models are set up and working. This session will discuss the most-common roles—digital collaboration manager, building information modeling (BIM) manager, and BIM coordinator—and the expectations and responsibilities of these different roles. In addition, we'll look at how Fornebubanen Metro has standardized how nine different BIM coordinators work, how we've managed their different personalities to fit with the standardization, and how they've advanced in practice through a project that has lasted for 12 years and has 10,000 models in BIM 360 and 12 federated models in Navisworks software. We'll see how their work has ensured a model-based project from start to finished construction, and how important their roles are to connect the design to construction. Their work has taken model-based construction to a new level, ensuring more value for all parts of the project.

This class will discuss the uses of Revit families, data, scheduling, and the Revit API to push Revit content to the prefabrication factory floor. We'll discuss what goes into the families, how we condition the families for prefabrication-specific content, and how we pull that content out with custom tools to send to the factory floor. We'll cover the main issues of communication between the design team and the prefabrication team, how we've solved these issues, what we output for the team, and how they use it to create the preconstruction packages.

Our panel discussion will be on the design-build process and how geographic information system (GIS) solutions improve project delivery. We'll also cover various aspects of construction, including construction monitoring, risk analysis, operations and maintenance planning, and site analysis. The panelists will share insights and project examples on how GIS technology has been used to monitor and track construction progress in real time, identifying potential risks and hazards associated with the construction process, and developing effective plans tailored to the project's specific needs. GIS technology can provide a comprehensive view of the site, including its topography, land use, and infrastructure, enabling the project team to make informed decisions throughout the design-build process. The discussion aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the design and design-build process and how GIS can be combined with building information modeling (BIM) and together maximized to improve project delivery.

This session will discuss a company's successful shift from 2D construction to 3D construction. By capitalizing on advanced digital technology, the company was able to transform its traditional 2D construction process into a more efficient and accurate 3D construction process. The new 3D process involves the creation of detailed 3D models using building information modeling (BIM) software, which allows for improved visualization, coordination, and communication between different stakeholders. The use of 3D models enables the company to detect and resolve potential design clashes, constructability issues, and conflicts between building systems before the construction phase, resulting in significant time and cost savings. Furthermore, the use of 3D models allows for more-accurate quantity takeoffs, material planning, and construction scheduling. By implementing 3D construction, the company is able to improve project quality, speed, and cost savings while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Innovation drives the work Paric does to help improve organizational efficiencies. With the ever-growing construction technology ecosystem, data silos become a real obstacle to get the most out of these tools. By maximizing the APIs provided by Autodesk Platform Services, and using tools like Autodesk Construction Cloud Connect, you can automate and streamline these processes to simplify what are otherwise repetitive and error-prone processes. These automations can provide the basis for future integrations across business operations. In this course, you will learn how Paric partnered with Autodesk Construction Solutions to automate the workflows between a CRM and Autodesk Build to reduce the required employee resources, increasing operation efficiencies and implementation of established corporate standards.

How can you feel more secure in your choice of technology? Skanska Sweden tried something new in the process of transitioning from BIM 360 to Autodesk Construction Cloud. Construction lifecycles are too long for evaluation, so alongside investigations, pretend play, and meetings, Skanska arranged a three-day focused Autodesk Construction Cloud Power Pilot together with Autodesk. In this session, Linn Areno from Skanska will join Pontus Bengtson from Autodesk to tell you why they did this and what pros and cons are involved in carrying out a focused Power Pilot. In addition, we'll also talk about how to transform the industry to get back to the concept of pride in craftsmanship when we go from project to product with information at the center.

Finding a suitable cost management tool that works for the construction industry is not an easy task, especially in Southeast Asia. Most tools are either too complicated, not user friendly, or simply not suitable for us in Gamuda. Getting the right tool within a good ecosystem is even more rare. Somehow, Autodesk has done it right again—with the release of the Autodesk Construction Cloud Cost Management API. Cost Management is simple to start with, flexible, and has good APIs for extending its capabilities. This session will be a journey from spreadsheets to building tech in cost management for Gamuda.

An often-overlooked sustainability challenge in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is: What should we do with all existing individual houses? Current technology enables sustainable design of new houses. However, climate change cannot be addressed without tackling the existing building stock. More than 62 million single-family houses need thorough renovation if we are to fulfill the EU climate ambitions by 2050. This means tackling 6,000 houses per day, starting today—in Europe alone! We'll demonstrate how artificial intelligence (AI), and generative design will support building owners and architects to quickly come up with new sustainable design options, ready for industrialized prefabrication with standardized elements. In this session, you'll learn how AI can add flexibility in the design with standardized elements. You'll find inspiration for a new balance between standardization and flexibility. We'll show applications for detached houses as well as terraced houses with complex shapes and requirements.

With rising material costs and razor-thin margins, construction takeoff—including accurate material quantification and cost estimates—is essential to starting and executing jobs on budget and on time. Autodesk Takeoff, with centralized 2D and 3D takeoffs, allows estimating teams to update quantities in real time, using the most up-to-date design files. By connecting existing building information modeling (BIM) data, Autodesk Takeoff can reduce takeoff and estimating times by 25% or more, minimize the risk of missed quantities, and guarantee accurate data capture.
