Assets in the Golden Thread: Enabling Digital Twins with an End-to-End Workflow Using Autodesk Build and Assets in ACC
Utilities, retailers, hospital operators, towercos, and other companies may need to digitalize large portfolios with thousands of existing facilities to complete their digital journeys—either to fully benefit from building information modeling (BIM) in design and construction or as a first step for the creation of their digital twins. Those same companies typically have an inventory database that is either incorrect or incomplete, but that has value nonetheless, since it may be used to connect said assets with other enterprise solutions, including maintenance and operations management. In this technical instruction session, we will present a workflow for the end-to-end digitalization of a portfolio of facilities using a component-based approach. This workflow starts with any existing inventory, uses it in Autodesk Construction Cloud Assets and Forms to capture on-site data, then switches to Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro software and Autodesk Docs software for the intelligent modeling of the facilities, and then again moves back to the Assets functionality for audit and validation.

Configure - Plan - Fabricate -Build | Sustainable Fabrication Workflows for Timber Buildings
Sustainability and cost efficiency for residential building is more important than ever. We will present with our customer Haas an integrated workflow from the configurator, an automated detailed design process in Revit to fabrication and the construction site. This digital process allows prospects to visually configure and calculate any residential or family timber house. These visualization of the customer's request via the house configurator leads to a faster and high-quality discussion with the customer. Seamless transition from configuration to design in Autodesk Revit ensures that no extra detail design work must be carried out manually. That model is transferred into the fabrication process and finally all data is leveraged via BIM360/ACC BUILD on construction sites for project and quality management and daily logs.

From Vision to Reality: Client-Centered Megadata Mastery in Qatar Rail's BIM Journey with Autodesk
This presentation will focus on implementation of building information modeling (BIM) and Autodesk Platform Services within Qatar Rail Metro from a client's perspective. The key challenges we'll highlight include the collaboration of 100+ external contributors and the effective management of megadata throughout 11, simultaneous, interlinked project lifecycles (especially during operation). We'll showcase the key innovations and workflows adopted to overcome these challenges. We'll discuss integration of BIM into the project framework, emphasizing benefits gained from inception to operational excellence. We'll trace the evolution of BIM within the project and its impact on project coordination and efficiency. This session will demonstrate the current importance of BIM in enabling Qatar Rail to manage mega-assets and associated BIM data, and we'll cover the value of Autodesk Platform Services in optimizing workflows across organization to drive cost efficiencies. With future plans to double the size of metro, the presentation will showcase Qatar Rails strategy to implement connected BIM, advanced data analytics, and extended/augmented reality.

Revolutionizing Architecture Now: How Data-Driven Design Will Reshape the Design Process Irreversibly and Improve Its Quality (Repeat)
Data-driven design in architecture has the potential to drastically enhance the quality of projects. It's not solely focused on enhancing the end result; data-driven design also streamlines the architectural process itself. It goes further than just streamlining tasks; it's about improving the quality of living environments and assuring sustainability. In this session, we'll tell the story of the journey involved in designing a residential building. By combining data from various sources, we looked at the most-optimal options for a case we studied in Warsaw, Poland. Among these sources are passive solar design, green roofs, wind analysis, building materials assessment, energy use efficiency, resource conservation, and waste reduction—reducing carbon footprint. Additionally, we incorporated some urban-scale geographic information system (GIS) data. All of that would not be possible without Autodesk Forma software, which played the critical role. For us, the role of an architect will never be the same after this journey.

Digital Innovation: A Three-Step Approach to Digital Transformation

The building and construction industry is feeling the effects of change more than most. This strong and rather conventional economic sector is being digitized at an accelerated pace. The Germany-based construction company BREMER SE is in the middle of a digital transformation process and has digitized its value chain. BREMER is aiming to be completely digitized within three years, re-evaluating its processes. After all, even processes that have stood the test of time for decades have to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of digitization. There are three phases of digital transformation: 1) Implementation of a common data environment (CDE) and communication. 2) Data evaluation and site management. 3) Model coordination and collaboration. With this approach, BREMER has brought together 2,500 project participants—internal and external—on a CDE within a short period of time, and the firm has since recorded steady growth in the number of users and projects.

Indonesia 4.0: BIM Uses Through Megaproject—Indonesia’s New Capital City

Indonesia is moving its capital from Jakarta to a new city. In this session, we'll explore how Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing is implementing building information modeling (BIM) in megaproject “Indonesia’s New Capital City,” specifically the highway projects. We'll start by discussing how we developed our own classification system to help the quantification process, including the benefits and challenges of this approach. Next, we'll cover how we integrated all the projects into the common data environment (CDE) and used Autodesk Platform Services to create a dashboard that displays key project metrics and status. We'll also discuss how we maintain BIM implementation through weekly BIM evaluations, including how we address issues and ensure consistency across all projects. Finally, we'll share how we integrated all intelligent models from every project into a single federated model that is updated weekly to show the construction progress.
