In Toyota Woven City—which is currently under construction as an experimental city where various technologies can be tried for the well-being of people—we've been exploring the ideal form of spatial information, including building information modeling (BIM) data, while closely observing the needs of a wide variety of users. Based on the knowledge we've gained there, we've been developing spatial information of building structures for various users outside the construction industry from the client's standpoint, as well as developing databases and APIs to provide this information in an open-data format. We hope that sharing our experiences will help accelerate the development of spatial information as the future social data infrastructure.

In this session, we'll cover techniques we've developed for rendering large architectural and infrastructure environments in real time. The increasing accessibility of advanced reality capture devices—such as photogrammetry and SLAM LiDAR technology—offers an unprecedented opportunity for AECO professionals to accurately capture detailed and extensive site details. Integrating these technologies into your workflows can dramatically enhance documentation at various construction stages, improve coordination among stakeholders, and provide timely and transparent as-built information. This case study will demonstrate how to effectively use these advanced technologies (SLAM point clouds and 3D gaussian splatting) to enrich civil Infrastructure Management with Autodesk tools like Civil 3D, ReCap, InfraWorks, Revit, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

In 2024, Porto Alegre faced historic floods that impacted more than 157,000 people and 46 neighborhoods, with the Guaíba River rising above 5.33 meters. With 142 high-risk areas mapped, the city needed urgent, resilient solutions within 12 months. This case study shows how Autodesk tools—InfoWorks ICM, Civil 3D, and InfraWorks software—and ArcGIS Pro were used to model flooding, design containment strategies, and develop resilient infrastructure for slopes and roads. The integrated workflow enabled the analysis of three alternatives, balancing cost, time, and performance. Autodesk technologies provided agility and accuracy, and reduced rework, supporting faster and smarter decisions. The project also advanced environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals through sustainable, inclusive, and data-driven planning, proving the critical role of digital solutions in climate-resilient urban infrastructure.

In large-scale international projects, many parties are involved in the design and construction process.
