Process bottlenecks and related issues often require complex and dynamic solutions. Discover how FlexSim recommends process improvements from live data, and see how the FlexSim OptQuest optimization engine solves multidimensional problems. OptQuest uses machine learning to evaluate multiparameter input groups in order to strategically determine optimal outcomes across various performance objectives. This method provides faster and more intelligent solutions to intricate problems than manual techniques do. In scenarios with constantly evolving operational inputs, FlexSim can be configured as a live Digital Workplace, continuously operating at set intervals, and using live data streams based on system feedback and artificial intelligence (AI) predictions. This approach necessitates specific model programming, which we will explore. By implementing these advanced techniques, businesses can significantly improve their process optimization capabilities, addressing complex challenges more effectively than traditional methods allow.

Learn how to automate decision making in type 5 designs by connecting structural analysis, product data, and off-site construction workflows across the Autodesk platform. This class will demonstrate how to integrate a Structural Analysis Design Engine (SADE) with Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud) to automate shear wall placement, then propagate those requirements through Informed Design to drive product behavior. Using the Informed Design API and parametric logic authored in Inventor software, we'll embed structural intelligence into configurable wall panels assigned to Autodesk Forma masses enabling consistent, data-driven outcomes from early design through fabrication.

For EFCO's team of 250 engineers, moving design data across AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit software meant constant rework, misaligned models, lost parameters, and no path to incremental updates. By adopting Data Exchange, EFCO built a consistent, update-aware pipeline that scales reliably across the firm's full team. But the real power of this story extends beyond EFCO: Its workflow is a blueprint for any industry where manufacturing and architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) teams must collaborate across domains. You'll leave this session with practical techniques for modernizing multitool workflows and a model for enabling seamless cross-domain collaboration, from design to construction.

Designing overhead catenary systems is highly constrained and repetitive. This session will introduce a generative workflow that automates catenary design using an advanced Revit adaptive parametric family capable of handling more than 350,000 configuration combinations. The family embeds engineering logic and formulas that evaluate geometry, spans, clearances, and structural conditions to automatically select the optimal mast configuration. Attendees will learn how Generative Design or Dynamo drives this parametric engine, enabling the model to adjust the catenary mast as track geometry changes. The result is a smart, self‑adapting catenary system that reduces manual work and increases design reliability across long rail corridors.

In this session, you'll learn how to move beyond drawing-based coordination and establish a connected design-to-manufacturing workflow based on data convergence. Through an actual project of a general contractor operating a precast concrete plant, this session will explain how Revit and Inventor software were integrated via Autodesk Forma and Informed Design to enable the convergence of design and manufacturing data. You will see how configurable and reusable manufacturing models are created, and how data can flow consistently from BIM to production. The session will demonstrate how this convergence-driven approach reduced workload by more than 40%, and how it provides practical insights that designers and manufacturing engineers can apply to reduce rework, improve quality, and strengthen cross-team collaboration.

Discover how combining Factory Design Utilities, Revit, and FlexSim software transforms facility design through seamless integration of 2D layouts, 3D models, and process simulation. This case study will demonstrate significant time savings by eliminating redundant updates across platforms and enabling engineering teams to make objective, data-driven decisions with less rework. This class will present the end-to-end Factory Design Utilities workflow, showing how AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, and FlexSim software work together to enable rapid, realistic simulations and models. Engineers from Jacobs will share real project examples demonstrating ROI, cost savings, and how simulations validate designs, communicate decisions, and extend value into production planning and continuous improvement.

Offshore manufacturing used to be the cheapest option … until it wasn't. As shipping costs rose by more than 200%, offshore rework rates soared three to five times higher, and lead times stretched by up to 30%, many manufacturers started to rethink offshoring and consider bringing production closer to home. This class will show how Autodesk Fusion software helps teams address the often-overlooked costs of offshoring by connecting design and manufacturing workflows in one platform. Through practical examples, you'll see how Fusion reduces rework, improves process control, speeds iteration, and streamlines computer numerical control (CNC) programming to support more-agile and efficient in-house production.

Manufacturing companies face inefficiencies from disconnected systems across factory design, engineering, and shop-floor operations. This session will demonstrate how a digital twin approach using Autodesk Tandem software integrates BIM-based factory models with live production data for smarter decisions. For greenfield projects, FlexSim integration enables simulation of layouts, production lines, and material flows before execution, optimizing throughput and reducing project risk. Energy Monitoring and Management System (EMMS) integration adds early visibility into energy and sustainability. For brownfield plants, connecting programmable logic controllers (PLCs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and a manufacturing execution system (MES) creates a unified operational view, enabling real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and bottleneck identification.

Vault Professional software manages thousands of engineering workflows but property assignment, lifecycle transitions, revision management, approval routing, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) synchronization remain manual. Every operation is predictable and rule-governed. This session will deliver AU 2026's Intelligent Data theme in practice: an AI agent connected to the Vault API monitoring product data management (PDM) events and executing the right action autonomously via a Model Context Protocol (MCP) agent loop. The large language model (LLM) interprets PDM state against business rules, and the API executes without manual intervention. In controlled workflows, this has reduced administrative overhead by up to 70%. You'll leave with an ROI-prioritized implementation road map.

AutoCAD Electrical software ships with powerful tools, but many teams struggle to move beyond the out‑of‑the‑box configuration into a setup that truly supports their design standards, workflows, and project scale. This class will focus on how to configure AutoCAD Electrical so it becomes a reliable production tool instead of a constant source of rework and work-arounds. Rather than focusing on schematic drafting basics, this class will emphasize configuration strategy, governance, and best practices that scale across teams and projects. You'll leave with a clear understanding of what to configure, why it matters, and how to maintain a healthy AutoCAD Electrical environment over time.
