Description
The Kentucky Lock Addition Project is a high-priority U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) effort requiring coordination across multiple districts, agencies, and contractors. This session will provide a technical deep dive into how BIM, CAD, and GIS were integrated through an Advanced Modeling Project Execution Plan (PxP) to support design, coordination, and construction. Using tools that include Civil 3D, Revit, Inventor, and Navisworks software, teams developed federated models for clash detection, sequencing, and as-built deliverables. You will see how model-based workflows improved coordination, reduced errors, and supported better decision making across the project lifecycle.
Key Learnings
- Learn how to implement an Advanced Modeling (BIM/CAD/GIS) strategy for large-scale infrastructure delivery.
- Learn how to coordinate multidisciplinary teams using federated models to improve design and construction outcomes.
- Learn about applying model-based workflows to support lifecycle decision making from design through operations.
- Learn about working on government design projects with security restrictions and cloud limitations.
