How BIM Collaborate Pro Boosted Our Success During a Global Pandemic
Many ongoing projects were affected during the pandemic, requiring changes to our design teams’ traditional workflows. Keeping all teams connected and motivated while social distancing has been an enormous challenge for our industry. Autodesk Construction Cloud has evolved to provide the greatest efficiency for cloud collaboration and team integration. In this class, attendees will learn how to use Revit Cloud Worksharing applying a standardized workflow that’s easy to understand and effective for fast-track projects, including project creation, worksharing process, and publish settings. With this workflow, we’ve been able to reduce communication lags, avoid local server failures, and optimize the sync process of our models by up to 50% compared to the traditional local server workflow.

BIM 360 Design: Revit and Civil 3D Collaboration
The BIM 360 Design product provides access to the Design Collaboration and Document Management modules within the BIM 360 platform. In addition, access (entitlements) are provided for Revit Cloud Worksharing and Collaboration for Civil 3D software. With these entitlements, it is possible to achieve true collaboration between all members of the project team. Two experts will discuss and demonstrate the workflow for such cloud-based collaboration using Revit software and Civil 3D software. We’ll examine the similarities and differences and offer some best practices advice. The session will wrap up with a demonstration of sharing data between Revit and Civil 3D using BIM 360 software.

Accelerate Project Delivery: Standardizing Cloud-Connected BIM Coordination

The team of WSP Canada has developed a highly integrated workflow, combining the best of Revit Cloud Worksharing, Design Collaboration, and Model Coordination to optimize the collaboration and coordination workflows. An integrated workflow has been developed on the largest projects, covering both industrial, linear infrastructure, and building projects. Covering 10 to 500 project members working simultaneously, 7,500 model versions are shared with up to 125 task teams during a single project lifetime. All project members are informed of the status of the collaboration and coordination and presented with a uniform coordination overview, all fully automated. Finally, all parts of the workflow were analyzed, documented, and are now standardized. These are made available for use on every new project within WSP globally. The workflow has helped BIM (Building Information Modeling) managers to become 80% more productive and design teams to speed up project execution and enable faster and better project communication.

On Cloud 9: Revit and AutoCAD Cloud Collaboration
Cloud-based Revit software and AutoCAD software collaboration can mean many things to many people. For some people it means running these applications completely in the cloud. For others, it means running the applications in offices and using the cloud to share the files. Then there’s the ability to have both of these models together. This session will show how users running Revit software or AutoCAD software in the cloud can collaborate on the same Revit models or CAD files at the same time with users in the office. Users in both locations have the same fast performance with sync with central, element borrowing, and Worksharing Monitor with no change in workflow. This session will show a demonstration of users in an office environment collaborating with users in a partner office environment where the applications are running in the cloud.

Managing information across mega infrastructure projects becomes complex, especially when multiple companies and multi-site teams are involved. Workflow Upgrade: Transitioning to Model Coordination
This session will cover the "bare bones” setup of an Autodesk Docs central file-sharing site with granular permissions for use by a construction team during building information modeling (BIM) coordination. A builder's construction technology manager will demonstrate how Autodesk Collaborate supported by Autodesk add-ins can be used as a shared on-demand syncing tool for teams that still favor Navisworks Manage to run clash detection between a diverse mix of trade partners working both in and out of the cloud.
