We’ve pulled out all of the stops when it comes to the tools we use in building information modeling (BIM) coordination. In this session, we’ll explore the various plug-ins for Navisworks software and Revit software that we use to streamline the BIM coordination process, and we’ll show how we’ve optimized our workflow using a combination of Model Coordination and Navisworks to achieve an issue-free model. We’ll discuss setting up the Model Coordination space and breaking up coordination models into manageable sizes. We’ll cover clash grouping, automated viewpoint creation in Navisworks using HoloBuilder, and the creation of 3D room tags using Dynamo. We’ll also discuss using search sets, selection sets, appearance profilers, batch utilities, automated NWC exports, and the use of Autodesk Build software during coordination.

Change can be scary for any firm. Don’t get stuck! Why wait until you’re forced out of BIM 360 Glue software to fully understand what Model Coordination has to offer? Like BIM 360 Glue, Model Coordination connects the entire project team and streamlines BIM project workflows. In this session, we will explore the differences between classic BIM 360 Glue and next-generation BIM 360 Glue, and how you can improve your team’s efficiency by making the switch. We’ll also set up coordination models and recognize how the model integrates across the entire BIM 360 platform. We'll ensure that the stickiness in this session will make the move to Model Coordination easier for you and your organization.

Many may think that one should separate Navisworks software and BIM 360 Model Coordination on a project by choosing one or the other for clash modeling. This could not be further from the truth. This class will highlight case studies of recent Tetra Tech projects that have resulted in a greater than 50% drop in average time spent at the end of projects for disciplines resolving clashes by using BIM 360 Model Coordination and Navisworks. Attendees will learn how to easily start working within BIM 360 Model Coordination, which will enable an earlier start to clash coordination in the project’s design cycle before running a more comprehensive clash analysis using Navisworks. This class will also provide tips, tricks, and innovative processes for working on projects in BIM 360 to easily set up the BIM 360 Model Coordination service, and we’ll cover the new features added in 2021 for bringing these results into Navisworks.

This will be a BIM 360 Model Coordination module road map session, covering the next-generation platform, and associated classic products (Navisworks software, BIM 360 Glue software, and BIM 360 Layout iPad app).

Do you want to learn how to use laser scans in Autodesk's Model Coordination? This session will cover how Miron Construction has cut this process down from weeks to a few hours. We've been using laser scans for 10+ years and have recently started performing laser scanning ourselves. Laser scanning takes a lot of time and effort, and we were missing an efficient way to use the scans in Model Coordination. Linking the laser scan into Revit software and modeling over it is not easy and creates a lot of risk when coordinating with those models. If items are modeled inaccurately, all liability falls back on our team, which is something that Miron Construction's virtual construction team wants to avoid. This session will share how we are using PointFuse to elevate our building information modeling (BIM) coordination outcomes in Model Coordination.

Hear how AECOM used model coordination for a fast-track airport project in Qatar that involved more than 40 buildings, hundreds of project team members from numerous AECOM offices, and thousands of clash reports. BIM 360 Model Coordination software moves clash detection efforts beyond the BIM experts, letting all team members review and access up-to-date model-coordination information. In this session, you’ll learn how Model Coordination with BIM 360 can automatically clash project models and share coordination issues with the project team. Any team member can use BIM 360 Model Coordination without the need for Revit software, Navisworks software, or other specialized software. BIM 360 manages Model Coordination issues, removing the need to distribute clash reports or manage Navisworks exports from your BIM software.

Currently, Autodesk offers two 3D coordination and clash detection tools in its Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection. Deciding between Model Coordination and Navisworks software can be a challenge. Have you wondered how large multinationals like AECOM are making that decision? In this industry talk, AECOM will share some of our ideas and workflows on how best to use Model Coordination and Navisworks on your vertical infrastructure projects.

It has been a long road getting from there to here! Here we are again, on the precipice of a technology revolution. What will the future look like? What will the Autodesk Construction Cloud have in store? Most importantly, what will the Construction Industry embrace? Join this class to discuss what Model Coordination will mean, project delivery requirements, automation in the software, automation in the physical world, and the future of VDC roles. We will first time travel back to the beginning of Clash Detection and BIM Software, then we will compare that to current capabilities, and finally we will step into the future to explore the impact of what current cutting edge technology could have and review the tech workflows of the future.

The Navisworks integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud Model Coordination fosters collaboration among multiple stakeholders in a shared environment. It enables teams to allocate clashes to respective teams and flag them in authoring software for prompt resolution. Conventional clash detection workflows encounter challenges like nonstreamlined processes and prolonged procedures, as well as an absence of a shared collaborative environment, a need to sift through lengthy clash reports, inadequate documentation, and a lack of methods to assign clashes. Integrating Navisworks with Model Coordination offers a streamlined workflow and a closed-loop clash management system, and it provides comprehensive documentation and enhances coordination, productivity, and efficiency. In this lab, you'll learn to use the Model Coordination API in Navisworks for clash detection, and use the Issues add-in in Revit software for issue management and clash location, ensuring seamless coordination. Overcome your challenges and capitalize on the power of Autodesk tools.

We will also explore advanced options to track and manage clashes in BIM 360 Glue software and empower the extended project team with real-time, continuous BIM coordination to significantly shorten coordination cycles.

Is the Navisworks silo holding your project back? For 20 years, coordination was a "once a week" event locked on a desktop. No more. This session will explore the leap to continuous, cloud-native coordination in Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud). We'll dive into how Model Coordination democratizes BIM, using Autodesk AI and Autodesk Assistant to validate clashes against specs in real time. Learn to ditch static PDF reports for a closed-loop workflow that connects designers directly to fixes. We'll settle the debate: Where does Model Coordination win, and when do you still need the Navisworks "power user" kit? Join us to build a road map for a faster, AI-augmented and integrated future. Stop clashing. Start coordinating.

This session will cover the "bare bones” setup of an Autodesk Docs central file-sharing site with granular permissions for use by a construction team during building information modeling (BIM) coordination. A builder's construction technology manager will demonstrate how Autodesk Collaborate supported by Autodesk add-ins can be used as a shared on-demand syncing tool for teams that still favor Navisworks Manage to run clash detection between a diverse mix of trade partners working both in and out of the cloud. Autodesk technical experts will provide supplementary advice along the way to show how teams can make use of new features in the Autodesk Construction Cloud environment to take this strategy to the next level by removing roadblocks seen in previous versions of the product.

Immersive technologies are often promoted as the future of model coordination, yet most teams remain stuck in screen sharing and pilot demos. This session challenges that pattern, presenting a practical playbook for using shared immersive space as a deliberate coordination tool rather than a novelty. Through real project scenarios, it shows when XR enables faster understanding and better decisions, when desktop review works better, and how to structure immersive meetings so technical and non-technical stakeholders collaborate effectively. Hardware, visualization, and platforms matter but only when paired with clear intent, facilitation, and decision focused workflows.

Learn how Porsche uses ReCap software, mesh extraction, and Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud) to create accurate “last stand” models of production factories before retooling. In high-cost environments where production downtime must be minimized, existing Revit models of assembly lines are compared with current as-built conditions using lightweight, segmented meshes. This enables precise adjustments or extensions of production lines with reduced risk. This session will cover mesh generation, semantic segmentation, and integration into Model Coordination, with real project insights and best practices for large-scale manufacturing environments.

See how Model Coordination was used on the Portland International Airport (PDX) to coordinate design partners, trade partners, and general contractor as-built scans. This class will discuss the philosophy of our use, and the setup and maintenance process, as well as lessons learned along the way. The project joined Autodesk Cloud Services in January 2019 in order to handle the sheer number of team members and data that needed to be coordinated across all teams. The decision to use Model Coordination was heavily targeted toward the leadership group for both design and owner. These folks are not Revit users but are integral to the design process and direction. This platform allowed them to see the design as it developed and offered a unique lens previously unavailable. It also gave them the freedom to explore the design and investigate areas of the building with ease. The platform was used very effectively in regular coordination meetings, client meetings, and client-driven meetings.
