Description
This hands-on lab will teach you the practical use of the InfoWorks ICM Network Design logic for both stormwater and sanitary networks. Through guided exercises, you'll configure design constraints, explore the new penalty configuration parameters and the concept of automatic relaxation of constraints, apply design locks and backdrops, build and edit pipe network catalogs and selection lists, and interpret the design report to diagnose infeasible pipes. During the session, you'll use the Rational Method and intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) curves to calculate peak flows for stormwater design. And then you'll move to sanitary design using population-based peak flows with validation and troubleshooting best practices so you can apply InfoWorks ICM design logic confidently.
Key Learnings
- Learn how to configure design constraints and penalty parameters, including automatic relaxation, for stormwater and sanitary design.
- Learn how to create and edit pipe network catalogs and selection lists and apply design locks and backdrops to control connectivity.
- Learn how to run Network Design, interpret design reports, identify governing slope codes, and diagnose infeasible pipes.
- Learn how to validate automated designs with dynamic simulation, review constructability, and apply troubleshooting best practices.
