We would like to learn which interfaces and data formats you're using when you exchange PIDs, line lists, bills of materials, 3D piping, steel, and equipment models with all the associated data. Which interface are you using to receive data from FEED (front end engineering design) and to hand over to stress calculation, project management, and procurement system? BIM mandates are becoming more common across the globe, whether led by central government, demand from owners, or self-imposed by industry. In this presentation, representatives from the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors' Association of Australia will discuss how they are specifying the delivery of the BIM-MEPAUS initiative on the Australian Building and Construction industry for consultants, contractors, and the supply chain, and what the effects of these conditions are on the businesses involved.

Have you ever had a dream, idea, or passion to inspire change in your organization? Innovation and hackathons seem to be all the rage these days-they're all over the Internet as ways to transform your business. This industry talk will discuss how a stodgy Midwestern EPCM (engineering, procurement, and construction management) organization took the leap of faith with a first hackathon in 2014, going on to make the hackathon an annual event. Additionally, we'll review how we launched an innovation platform for every employee to participate in ideation, project definition, business development, and execution stages throughout the entire year, and how this program is now launching into regular hackathon sessions at each office in the organization. We will also discuss innovation tools and practices, including Adobe's Kickbox Canvas, Autodesk's LUMIAMI, and Wild/World analyzer.

There are presently factions of diversity across the construction industry and representing them in media is one way of signaling to additional diverse talent that there is a place for them in the industry. But today, if you scroll through a construction-related content feed, you’re still likely to see and hear from people who look a lot alike. How can we change that? What types of content can be highlighted to accurately showcase more inclusivity? What sorts of initiatives can the media industry adopt? A diverse panel of representatives from the media and construction industries will review what some of the challenges to showcasing diversity in media thus far have been, and how we can address them to be more inclusive. The goal is for the discussion to spark ideas on new topics for coverage and presenting content with inclusion in mind, so we can attract more diversity to the construction industry.

That the games industry is huge, pervasive, influential, 'bigger than Hollywood', etc., are known and often regurgitated statements. This talk isn't about that. This talk focuses on today and tomorrow's worker and consumer. If games are so pervasive, what does today's business customer/employee expect from the technologies they are expected to use or purchase? If we look at the proposed changes to the global education system - kids learning to code at a primary school level and the use of games to explore complex issues - what will those future graduates expect of their workplaces? The class will mainly cover the essentials of China Architecture Design Group’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions and practices, including BIM organizational frameworks, integration of collaborative BIM workflow and management, BIM project implementation, and so on. Since 2004, project case studies have been drawn from 48 various BIM projects with diversified building types with a total building area of more than 5,000,000 square meters.
