For over a decade Autodesk has been exposing .NET APIs for its desktop products. And you, as a developer, have become a master in this technology. How can you migrate all that valuable .NET knowledge (and code) to the cloud? This class will review what you need to refresh your .NET expertise and get you ready to leverage Autodesk Forge, BIM 360, and other Cloud connected and web-based applications.

AutoCAD Web (https://web.autocad.com) officially launched in March 2018. It’s the culmination of years of work to refactor and port the AutoCAD desktop code for the browser. As a result, AutoCAD Web shares all the C++ code that is responsible for the core, in-canvas drafting experiences with AutoCAD desktop. This includes the APIs, too. This talk is about the applications and extensions that you can build with AutoCAD Web, and our plans for the future.

A long-awaited design automation for Revit (DA4R) has finally arrived! Currently, DA4R is available to general public as a beta. Using DA4R, you can create, edit, and extract Revit models through the Revit API without having the Revit desktop environment. For example, you can create a model automatically by entering parameters, check if certain design criteria are met and create a report, and automatically modify the model. It is also possible to extract model data which was not possible with Forge Model Derivative API only. In this session, we will introduce DA4R to those who have experience writing Revit add-ins and are interested in learning Forge. You will learn how to convert your existing Revit add-ins to run in the cloud, and get started with leveraging Forge services (for example, integrating with viewer and BIM 360).

Traditionally, firms have developed and deployed Revit Add-ins using C# to implement Automation, Integration, & Customizations and custom capabilities in Revit. Autodesk now offers the  Automation, Integration, & Customization API, part of the Autodesk Platform Service (APS), which provides access to the Automation, Integration, & Customization capabilities of Autodesk’s core products, including the Revit API. This session will assist developers in transitioning from the Revit API to the Automation, Integration, & Customization API. The Automation, Integration, & Customization API introduces a new workflow that allows developers to access the full Revit DB API without needing a Revit desktop installation. This enables seamless creation, extraction, and modification of Revit data. This workflow facilitates the creation of custom Revit families, data extraction, and more, without the need to open Revit models. We outline from start to finish how to convert a Revit Add-in to Design Automation, Integration, & Customization. This includes using Postman, managing References, Access Tokens, AppBundles, publishing, and running WorkItems.

While companies try to adapt BIM 360 software to their projects and integrate with their existing workflow, one of the challenges is setting up projects in scale. While using a product’s web user interface may be enough for a few projects, tasks involved in setting up projects—such as adding users and building a standard folder structure with appropriate user permissions—can easily become time-consuming, tedious, error-prone manual labor. In this class, we will show you a tool that helps you set up projects in bulk by importing from CSV files. The tool consists of a collection of commands that you can run in combination. The features include: creating projects, populating users and company, setting up services, adding users to projects, and creating folders with user permissions. The tool is a desktop application written in .NET using Forge APIs. For those who wish to further customize the tool to integrate with their enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, we will share the source code and explain implementation detail.

The Reality Capture Group at Autodesk, Inc., is working on new ways to use laser scans or photos through the ReCap software technology to acquire, manipulate, and analyze real-world data. This class will focus on how to programmatically access the ReCap software web API (application programming interface) from a Microsoft .NET desktop application, and also how to access it from Android and iOS mobile apps. We will start with a quick overview of basic photogrammetry concepts and image parameters. We will follow with a brief introduction to REST-based web services, and we will explore how to authenticate with the Autodesk server using the OAuth protocol. We will then expose in detail the capabilities of the ReCap software web API and show you how to define a photo scene and create a dense 3D mesh from multiple pictures. We will also introduce the most effective practices to access and work with the API through examples in .NET, Android, and iOS apps.

Automation specialists are increasingly tasked with finding areas to implement AI. But how do we decide when AI is the correct tool and when deterministic automation serves better? Through a live demo of an AI-augmented building regulation compliance checker running on Autodesk Platform Services, we will explore a practical hybrid framework. The Automation API and Revit software handle rule evaluation through a deterministic engine. Large language models (LLMs) extract compliance rules from regulation documentation and explain failures in natural language. And the Viewer SDK provides visual context. We'll demonstrate a human-in-the-loop approach and show how AI architecture adapts rapidly when regulations change or new markets require new rule sets.

You've taken your first steps into automation with iLogic. Now it's time to expand your toolset and make The Force even stronger. This hands‑on classroom session will help you transport into the wider galaxy of API‑powered automation. Instead of diving deep into theory, we'll focus on how to access the Inventor API, understand what's possible, and confidently begin using it alongside iLogic. Using a guided example, you'll learn to connect iLogic to the API, locate key objects, and extend automation across parts, assemblies, and drawings. While it might look like The Dark Side at first, this class will break it into simple concepts and practical examples. By the end, you'll leave with the confidence and foundation to continue your automation voyage.

Learn how to Vaultify an existing Inventor add-in by integrating Vault API functionality. This session will focus on adding Vault connectivity and using Vault data directly within Inventor to enhance your design workflows. You'll see how to search for existing parts using both system and user-defined properties, helping reduce duplicate designs and improve reuse of existing data. We'll also explore how this approach can support smarter decision making during design, streamline processes, and lay the foundation for more-advanced Vault-driven automation within your custom add-ins.

You've seen how iLogic can tame tedious tasks and make you more efficient. Now AI promises to go even further, writing your rules, navigating the Inventor API, and transforming your automation overnight. Sounds great, right? Here's the truth: Great results from AI are out there, but so is the AI-induced nonsense. You might have seen AI confidently generate code that doesn't work. Or watched it invent API methods that don't exist. The promise is real. But so are the hallucinations, the dead ends, and the frustrations of vibe coding. Come to this session to cut through the hype with tips, tricks, and insights for getting real results from AI, knowing when to trust it, when to push back, and how to build automation that fulfills the prompt.

Rendering Autodesk VRED scenes can result in Open EXR sequences that require manual handling before they can be used in Autodesk Flame. This creates delays, inconsistencies, and avoidable errors in high-end commercial finishing workflows. This session will discuss example pipelines using both VRED and Flame Python tools to render Open EXR sequences from VRED and ingest them into Flame as clips. We will cover render jobs, structuring output, managing naming, and simplifying Flame imports. You should leave with a repeatable, production-ready workflow that reduces manual ingest and connects visualization to finishing with speed and reliability.

Learn how to use AI as a practical coding assistant to accelerate AutoCAD development. This 30-minute strategy session will show how AI can generate AutoLISP routines and C# .NET code, assist with debugging, and support code translation enabling faster iteration and higher-quality results. Attendees will gain strategies to evaluate AI-generated code, integrate it into existing projects, and apply AI-assisted workflows effectively across both legacy and modern Autodesk development.

AutoCAD uses grips showed with a selected object not only to provide visual hints of the object—such as start/end/center points, or mid/tangent points or vertices—but also, more importantly, to provide shortcuts to various operations against the object, such as stretch, move, rotation, and scale. Other AutoCAD-based applications (Civil 3D software, AutoCAD Architecture software, AutoCAD MEP software, and so on) use custom grips with architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) entities extensively. Fortunately, with .NET API, we can add custom grips to an AutoCAD object for our own specialized operation against the selected object. This session will show you a few practical examples of using custom grips.

Do you like new challenges? Do you like exploring where no one has gone before? Are you tired of the same old customization techniques? This is the class for you. Expand your horizons and learn to develop in Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft .NET. Most of us know how to customize in LISP, so as a way to ease into .NET, this class will focus on developing .NET functions that are exposed to LISP. Even if you are a LISP programmer who has been scared to make the jump—come on in, the water's fine. The topics covered in this class are also covered in the new forum called AUGI Bridging the Gap, so you will have a place to hang out afterward and craft your skills.

This technical deep dive will present an automated site-development workflow linking Civil 3D, Revit, Autodesk Forma Site Design, and Dynamo as a Service (DaaS). First, Civil 3D extracts the contextual data from a Forma project, analyzes grading limits, and generates back in Forma hatched “buildable pad” areas (max flat footprint without major walls/earthwork). Next, a Dynamo graph reads building program data from a spreadsheet. Then, the user selects the site boundary and pad outline in DaaS. And a Python node places buildings based on editable criteria (daylight, sun angle, wind, noise, orientation) to rapidly generate and compare options.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is transforming how AI assistants interact with engineering data. Instead of building separate apps, you expose your data as MCP tools and any large language model (LLM) connects natively. In this session, we'll show how WSP built a production MCP server using FastMCP and Python that exposes AEC Data Model GraphQL APIs as intelligent tools enabling engineers to query live Autodesk Forma Revit models conversationally via the Claude Desktop app or GPT-4. Ask "What is the total embodied carbon for Level 3?" or "List all structural columns over 5m" and you'll get live answers directly from Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud), with no separate UI. This was built and demonstrated at the Autodesk APS Accelerator Bangalore 2026. Attendees will leave with a replicable MCP server blueprint for Autodesk Forma.

Explore how Autodesk Platform Services enables a new class of immersive design applications. This session will dive into the Autodesk Data Exchange API and the Geometry Utilities SDK, showing how to extract, transform, and stream architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) data into custom 3D experiences. Using a real-world example on Apple Vision Pro, we'll demonstrate how subsets of Revit models can be converted into lightweight, queryable geometry and rendered in spatial computing environments. You'll gain practical insights into data pipelines, geometry processing, and performance considerations for building production-ready immersive apps on top of Autodesk Platform Services.

This class will demonstrate effective practices for creating, sharing, and maintaining custom Dynamo extension nodes. The class will use Python scripting and DesignScript programming language to customize the Dynamo extension, and we'll explore effective practices for curating reusable nodes for sharing through the package manager. Finally, the class will showcase custom Dynamo extension packages, authored by the presenter, and walk through how these packages are used and maintained for the user community.
