Late-stage design changes and coordination issues often derail project timelines and inflate costs in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. This session will introduce Autodesk Workshop XR software, a VR-based collaboration tool aligned with the Autodesk ecosystem that enables immersive, real-scale, intelligent-model reviews. When integrated with Autodesk Construction Cloud, it helps multidisciplinary teams detect constructability issues early, validate models against existing conditions, and communicate changes effectively. You will experience a live demonstration of a full BIM-to-XR workflow, connecting Revit and Navisworks models to Workshop XR for 1:1 scale validation and coordination. The session will also explore integrating segmented point cloud meshes into Workshop XR environments for as-built verification. You’ll gain insights into how Workshop XR workflows can reduce RFIs, enhance cross-disciplinary communication, and improve project efficiency—without the need for complex or costly hardware.

This class would show how configurable, manufacturable content created through Informed Design can be reviewed at scale in Workshop XR, helping teams catch spatial clashes, access BIM data, and raise issues before construction. This would be especially suited to a Revit-to-review workflow for BIM/VDC teams because Workshop XR is built for collaborative model reviews, supports issue management, and connects directly to Autodesk Forma.

Traditional structural reviews, especially for complex projects, often struggle to convey spatial complexities and foster true collaboration. Autodesk Workshop XR is Autodesk’s groundbreaking virtual reality (VR) platform seamlessly integrated with Autodesk Construction Cloud—and it is designed to overcome these barriers. This session will show how Thornton Tomasetti came to use Autodesk Workshop XR and is transforming structural engineering workflows. Learn how to conduct instant, immersive design reviews directly from Autodesk Construction Cloud models, fostering real-time collaboration among engineers, architects, contractors, and owners in a shared virtual space. We’ll explore how this enhances communication, accelerates the identification of structural challenges in renovations, and streamlines issue tracking directly within VR back to Autodesk Construction Cloud. Through practical examples and live demonstrations, discover how the Autodesk solutions deliver tangible benefits, such as reduced errors, cost savings, and, ultimately, more-successful building projects.

At Maire, we’ve successfully integrated Autodesk Workshop XR software into our engineering processes. This integrated platform facilitates model reviews using Meta Quest virtual reality (VR) headsets. Model reviews are critical design phases where engineers meet virtually to discuss project status and coordinate efforts. The use of VR headsets has been particularly beneficial, as it allows designers to immerse themselves in the full-scale 3D model and evaluate design choices effectively. Additionally, the platform enables users to snap and create issues, which can be shared with the team to track and address identified problems. This innovative approach has significantly enhanced our project coordination and design evaluation processes. In the past, we used a VR solution stored on a workstation. Workshop XR is useful in our integrated environment in Autodesk Construction Cloud, where we store all our projects. Workshop XR is a part of our workflow in Autodesk Construction Cloud with the standard use of documents and design Automation, Integration, & Customization module.

Strategic alignment: integrated workflows, convergence across tools (Forma + Revit + Workshop XR) to create impact. This focuses on "business outcomes" by eliminating the "render-review-rework" cycle. Coordination gaps between master planners and building designers often lead to costly rework during design development. Using the KEO project as a case study, this session demonstrates how to establish Autodesk Forma as a "single source of truth." We showcase a scalable strategy applied across our projects and a workflow demo where design constraints are pushed through Revit into Workshop XR for 1:1 scale review. Learn how this integrated approach allows global teams to make instant, data-backed decisions from massing and orientation to design details, ensuring total stakeholder alignment before construction.

This session will explore how Autodesk Workshop XR is transforming project coordination, making early issue detection and resolution the new normal. With a seamless Autodesk Construction Cloud integration, we'll discover how to harness the power of Workshop XR to enhance workflow efficiency, bridge communication gaps, and minimize costly reworks and materials waste. We'll show what it's like to walk through a model in virtual reality (VR) at human scale, and review its associated building information modeling (BIM) data—while helping to accelerate team alignment during the design phase.
