Description
Water utilities increasingly rely on hydraulic models to improve water-loss management. Yet, explicitly representing real losses remains a common challenge. This session will present a practical, repeatable workflow for modeling leakage using InfoWater Pro software. You will learn how to go beyond traditional water-loss representations and incorporate system pressures, SCADA data, and district metered areas into calibrated models to quantify and spatially allocate real losses. We'll demonstrate how pressure-dependent leakage formulations can improve calibration accuracy and identify high-leakage zones. Real-world examples will show how, when calibrated, these models support operational decision making, targeted leak detection, and capital planning.
Key Learnings
- Learn how to implement pressure-dependent leakage representations within InfoWater Pro water distribution models.
- Learn how to integrate SCADA data, system pressures, and DMA measurements into model calibration workflows.
- Learn how to validate modeled leakage results against observed system performance to improve calibration confidence.
- Learn how to assess spatial leakage outputs from InfoWater Pro models to prioritize leak detection strategies.
