Description
Large Inventor iLogic environments often suffer from duplicated code, fragile “Call External Rule†workflows, and rules that become difficult to maintain as teams grow. This session will share a production-tested approach for building a centralized iLogic function library that behaves like native Inventor functionality. You will learn how to structure reusable VB-based subroutines, enable IntelliSense across internal and external rules, and apply versioning and governance patterns that allow automation to scale safely. You'll see real-world examples that show how this approach reduced duplication, improved consistency, and accelerated engineer-to-order development in Inventor.
Key Learnings
- Learn how to design a centralized iLogic function library that supports reuse across parts, assemblies, and external rules.
- Learn about replacing duplicated logic and “Call External Rule†workflows with discoverable, IntelliSense-enabled functions.
- Learn how to implement versioning and structural conventions that allow shared iLogic code to evolve safely over time.
- Learn about governance and adoption patterns that standardize automation behavior across multiple developers.
