Description
Many tunnel projects rely on static design approaches that limit the ability of stakeholders to anticipate construction risks and adapt to evolving constraints. This session will present a decision-driven parametric design approach for tunnel and cross-passage modeling using shared project data accessible to stakeholders. Based on a real tunnel project in the United Kingdom, we'll demonstrate how Dynamo-driven workflows enable rapid iteration of design scenarios and validation of geometric constraints. The session will also highlight collaboration between design and construction teams using shared linear references. We'll also share how value was assessed, including reduced design iterations, improved risk anticipation, and faster decision making.
Key Learnings
- Learn how to build parametric tunnel models in Revit using Dynamo and structured project data.
- Learn how to integrate shared data environments to enable decision-driven model generation.
- Learn how to design workflows that allow non-modelers to control parametric inputs safely.
- Learn how to evaluate benefits and limitations of data-driven parametric design in projects.
