Detecting and Solving Issues Instantly: Integrating Dynamo with Excel enabled us to identify available space over the ceiling among Architectural and Structural models instantly, facilitating the efficient creation of MEP models. 3. Reducing Downtime and Improving Work Quality: By automatically linking Revit data to technical calculation files, we slashed MEP calculation time by up to 40%, enhancing both efficiency and work quality.

Designing timber connections is critical to ensure the structural integrity of timber constructions. An artificial system for designing timber connections would typically involve a combination of computational algorithms, databases of material properties, and engineering principles. Integrating AI systems with a code-checking system in Revit software allows engineers to explore different solutions and be certain of compliance with calculation regulations. Grouping and optimizing nodes, analyzing new node solutions, and automatically creating calculation reports in Revit can greatly reduce modeling and analysis efforts. We will also present a system capable of inserting nodes automatically and designing them according to the calculation actions present in Revit.

This course will present a series of "how to" and "how come" case studies on using Forma to expand contextual understanding of architectural design. Increasing need for data and AI is creating unprecedented demand for data-center capacity, while social and regulatory pressure demands reduced energy and water consumption. Serial hyperscale, co- location, and "edge" clients are driving innovation in design and industrialization, using digital libraries of configurable, scalable solutions for repeatable, standardized designs that can be amended to suit local codes and site constraints. Benefits include that solutions capture and optimize for a wide range of stakeholder needs. In addition, creating rules-based relationships allows design automation, and site-specific designs are created in hours. The approach facilitates supply chain input—using standard products reduces lead times and alleviates pressure on suppliers. Individual elements can be refined "offline" and reintroduced when ready—critical for bringing in new technology for cooling and decarbonization without total redesign. Automotive does this well, leading to continual improvement, not constant reinvention.

Revit 2023 software has completely overhauled the analytical modeling workflow. Now the physical and analytical models have the freedom to act independently. The analytical model elements must be created separately from the physical structure; however, you can still "link" them together. This ultimately gives better control over the analytical model and what it is allowed to represent. These changes are drastic, but don't worry. We're here to help explain how it all works, and have you give it a try in this hands-on lab.
