Description
Delivering a multimodal corridor requires more than geometry alone; it demands coordination across design, drainage, automation, and visualization. This session will show how ICON Engineering applied a connected approach on the 124th Avenue corridor in Thornton, Colorado. Civil 3D software served as the backbone of the design, while Dynamo, InfoDrainage, and InfraWorks software systems were integrated into a single pipeline. Dynamo automated alignments, profiles, and utility coordination tasks; stormwater design was developed and validated in InfoDrainage; and the design was brought into InfraWorks for visualization and stakeholder communication.
Key Learnings
- Learn how to apply a Civil 3D workflow to develop multimodal corridor geometry with varying cross sections and traffic-calming features.
- Learn how to automate alignments, profiles, and utility coordination tasks using Dynamo to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Learn how to use InfoDrainage to design and evaluate stormwater systems coordinated with roadway geometry.
- Learn how to create InfraWorks models from Civil 3D designs to support visualization, stakeholder communication, and decision making.
