    Description

Residential area data seems straightforward until multiple definitions come into play. Sellable, zoning, gross, usable, net leasable, supply, and target they each serve different stakeholders and follow different rules. This session will present KPF's approach, starting with a cross-disciplinary committee that established shared standards and templates. At its core is an expanded area framework that extends Revit capabilities through Dynamo automation and parameter-based logic to produce reliable outputs directly from the model. Custom tools and dashboards streamline presentation plans, while light and air analysis tools support local compliance. Project examples from the United States, Korea, and Singapore show how these workflows scale across markets.

    Key Learnings

    • Learn about multiple residential area types (sellable, zoning, gross, miscellaneous) and map them to stakeholder reporting needs.
    • Learn about and compare approaches to structuring area data in Revit, from native parameter-based workflows to integrating Dynamo.
    • Learn about opportunities to extend Revit with custom tools and automation for presentation and documentation.
    • Learn how to integrate model data and custom tools to support jurisdiction-specific compliance and performance analysis.
