Description
This class will explore whether structural analysis workflows in Revit software should rely on the analytical model, the physical model, or a hybrid of both. Traditionally, structural analysis platforms use only the analytical model to translate geometry and structural properties from Revit. Why limit workflows to just the analytical model? With analytical and physical models now able to act independently, users can choose which representation best fits their needs. This class will compare approaches and evaluate when each method or a combined strategy provides the most reliable and efficient structural analysis workflow. We'll also explore customizing structural analysis tools to accept physical model geometry.
Key Learnings
- Learn about and compare analytical, physical, and hybrid structural modeling workflows in Revit for structural analysis.
- Learn about limitations of analytical-only model translation, and evaluate when physical model geometry provides advantages.
- Learn how to configure and test workflows that use independent analytical and physical models for analysis preparation.
- Explore strategies for customizing structural analysis platforms to accept physical model geometry and hybrid data.
