Description
Today's architects are integrating sustainability analysis early to reduce environmental impact and meet carbon targets. Yet early design has traditionally relied on intuition due to limited data. This hands-on lab will introduce an outcome-based workflow that brings actionable carbon insights into early-stage design. You'll use Autodesk Forma, Revit, and Insight to move from conceptual massing with real-time operational and embodied carbon feedback to detailed analysis, including Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and carbon trade-offs across design options. Through dashboards, metrics, benchmarks, and simulation factors, you'll learn to optimize carbon performance and enable cross-disciplinary, data-driven design decisions.
Key Learnings
- Learn how early-stage design decisions impact both operational and embodied carbon performance.
- Learn about outcome-based design using Autodesk Forma, Revit, and Insight to integrate sustainability analysis.
- Learn how to evaluate carbon trade-offs across design variables such as materials and window-to-wall ratio.
- Learn how to use dashboards, metrics, factors and benchmarks, and simulation factors to optimize carbon performance.
