Building the Future of AEC with Artificial Intelligence

Jack Dahlgren and Tom Riley of NIVIDIA explore what’s becoming possible as new developments in software and processors kick-start another leap forward in AI-powered design

The tools we use to make art and the artifacts of our culture have been changing for thousands of years. First we used bones, rocks, and sticks. Then came metal, then plastic, then digital tools. With each transformation came new techniques and outputs, but the essential design challenge remained the same: how to create things that served their function but also had art and soul. The latest tool in our makers’ toolkit is artificial intelligence. Jack Dahlgren and Tom Riley of NVIDIA share how developments in both software and processors are enabling another leap forward in the form of AI-powered design. The question is, what will you do with it?

About the speakers

Jack Dahlgren is an architect and construction manager at NVIDIA, where he explores how the power of the company’s products can accelerate visualization and create buildings that have their own intelligence. Previously, he spent 18 years with Microsoft.

Tom Riley is the director of Global Business Development at NVIDIA, where he works with partners that are adopting VR as part of their business model. He’s been working in VR for 20 years, and he holds a master’s degree from Stanford University.
