Description
Using open source tools and open formats, CIMIC is federating their largest 3D architectural models, directly from ACC and into the Unity game engine. They show record loading times and record rendering speeds with the largest of federated scenes, while keeping ACC versioning, filtering and coloring, of single elements. This case study compares different pipelines that were explored before choosing the final result. Topics include ArcGIS Maps SDK for Unity, IFC, I3S, OBJ, USD, FBX, 3D-Tiles and glTF. Learn how you can integrate ACC 3D models into your own game engine using APS, open source tools and open formats.
Key Learnings
- Master integration of 3D models from ACC to Unity.
- Compare pipelines for optimal processing, loading & rendering performance.
- Discover best practices for maintaining features such as versioning and coloring when federating 3D models into game engines.
