Description
In this session, we'll share a strategy discussion into ReCap software's new mesh workflow for creating scan-derived meshes that perform reliably in Model Coordination in Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud) and Navisworks software. Using a confidential project case study, you will see how our team processed 1 TB of scan data across 1.2 million square feet and resolved repeated model crashes that disrupted access for virtual design and construction (VDC) engineers and trade partners. By moving from Leica Cyclone 3DR to ReCap-generated meshes, we improved mesh quality, stabilized performance, streamlined scan-to-coordination workflows, and enabled automated clash detection with existing conditions for more-reliable downstream delivery.
Key Learnings
- Learn why some scan-derived meshes fail in coordination environments and discover how to diagnose workflow bottlenecks.
- Learn how to build meshes in ReCap for use in Model Coordination and Navisworks.
- Learn how scan-to-mesh workflows can support automated clash detection against existing conditions.
- Learn how to use scan-derived mesh workflows to improve coordination efficiency, model usability, and project resilience at scale.
