Description
Turning point clouds into reliable BIM inputs is still a challenge for many architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) teams. In this lab, you'll execute a complete, field-tested ReCap Pro workflow that transforms scan data into structured, interoperable mesh models ready for enhanced design and collaboration. Guided by subject matter experts, you'll apply automatic classification to generate clean meshes, standardize outputs using Template Manager, map Revit categories, and export IFC models for downstream BIM use. You'll then use these outputs as modeling references in Revit and validate them through coordination workflows in Navisworks and Model Coordination. Walk away with a repeatable, end-to-end scan-to-BIM process that reduces manual remodeling and accelerates coordination across project teams.
Key Learnings
- Learn how to apply automatic classification tools in ReCap Pro to generate structured and usable mesh models from point clouds.
- Learn how to configure Template Manager to standardize mesh classification and ensure consistency across projects.
- Learn how to export and validate category mapping and IFC models from ReCap for reliable use in Revit-based BIM workflows.
- Learn how to integrate mesh outputs into Revit and downstream coordination tools for clash detection and modeling accuracy.
