Description
This session will look at the full parametrization of an automated rebar modeling and drawing extraction used for infrastructure projects using Civil 3D, Revit, and Dynamo. This idea advances the automation of building information modeling (BIM) for bridge and tunnel reinforcement by developing a novel workflow in Germany's most progressive state, THE LÄND. Using a parametric template for rebars, the study integrates Dynamo, facilitating the automatic generation of intelligent models and rebar schedules. This method was successfully applied to real, large-scale, bridge and tunnel projects, demonstrating its effectiveness. The workflow enables automatic extraction of detailed rebar drawings and annotations. By streamlining project execution and enhancing data coherence, this integrated approach significantly improves BIM lifecycle management for infrastructure construction. The underlying ontology connecting normative requirements, FE results, and our long-term experience is the final step on our road map for an AI-based reinforcement generation.
